Thanks, I'm happy it's nothing to worry about C:

Also, one of the workers at the pet shop where I got my bird recommended that I cuddle her on my chest every day, but I don't want to since it might make her feel trapped... is it actually a good idea to do this? Do any of you do this?

Thanks ^^

It depends on what your bird is comfortable with! I do that with my Quaker because we are very comfortable with each other. He will voluntarily go onto my chest/lap/wherever to cuddle because he enjoys it. Maybe try it out and if your bird doesn't seem to like it, stop and give her some space. I'm not sure how long you've had her, but if she is a new addition then its probably best to give her more time to get used to you before you try and force any cuddles on her :)

I'm not an expert though, obviously- this is just from my personal experience.

Good news, I got Tiki to try carrot tops (the green leafy part on carrots) and she loves them! :D

How long should I leave it in the cage? Only a few hours?

Awhh, I'm glad she's trying new foods :D

Personally I leave fruit/veggies in the cage for a couple of hours and then take out whatever Zazu hasn't eaten. I usually give him two smaller servings a day (if I give him one large one he wont eat as much, he's weird)

How many birds do you own? ( if applicable ):

Four! ;v;
Two parakeets - (Names Jewel and Lyra, respectively.)
One Quaker Parrot - (Maui!)
One Green Cheek Conure - (She was named Iris when we got her, but the name'll probably change.)

How long have you had them?:
We've had Jewel for two years, about, and I believe we've owned Lyra for one?
Maui we've had for around five.
We literally just got our Green Cheek on Friday evening.

What brings you to the bird chat?:
I absolutely adore parrots, aa! (Also animals in general snrk.)
It's also super great to chat with fellow avian-lovers. ;o

Looking for some advice for picky, picky little fids.
I made some Mash tonight with thawed rice, red quinoa, buckwheat, and the following produce:
❤ Finely minced carrot and dark leafy greens
❤ Chopped yellow bell pepper, tomato, and celery
❤ Chopped apple and pear, along with a bit of orange pulp
❤ A nice sprinkle of poppy seed, chia seed, and flaxseed

(Luckily she isn't too picky regarding fruits and the like. She's also pretty fond of yogurt. Vegetables however, she dislikes with a fiery passion, along with my other birds.)

It's a pretty healthy mix! However, all of my birds are very willing to pick and pluck at their dinners. They messily shovel around their food in search of their favorites, mostly the fruit.
Everything else they spit out and throw around in their spirited search of the goodies.

Does anyone have any tips to make sure these picky little dorks get their proper nutrition? I'd appreciate any advice. ;v;

Ugh, I know the struggle. I've had my quaker for four or five years and he still does this. This might be weird, but if I pretend I'm eating something (usually his veggies that he isn't partial to) he will get much more interested in it and will eat it, even if he ignored it before.

...I know thats probably no help, but it's all I got lmao. Birds can be so picky.

Got 10 Ringneck doves today, all white. From what I've been told, they are breeding quite readily so hopefully they'll nest well lol. Had a few laughing... pretty creepy tbh. I'll have to get some pictures on here soon.
