Plans For culling sharks in Australia to make beaches safer!

I just heard about this within the last hour.
In western Australia people are protesting against the governments plans to Cull Great White, Bull and tiger sharks.
that cold have a severe negative on the Marine Environment and all three species migrate to some extent at least, making the shark finning and other shark hunting players in the decline of the species.

It's horrid,they are puting drum lines in the water as of friday!

and for what ? one death at the end of last year!! thats what sparked this,they are culling any GW bigger then 3 m so anything mature. barrnet claims it is for the safty of the children, but its adding more risk if you ask me, the hooks will catch other sea life and bring sharks in making it worse for anyone,i know i won't be taking my dog to the beach, they said any that get past will be allowed to be killed and desposed away from shore, anyone else see the problem in this?(i do)

This isn't about money really.
They're spending a bunch of money to kill a bunch of sharks to...well, for no reason really.
