Never heard of that food, unless i’ve been overlooking.

Oppie won’t eat anything except for this

grasping concept that he is in fact 100% dog.

I have a husky/leonberger mix that doesn’t like anything other than Nature’s Domain salmon and sweet potato lol. But he also will do anything for pizza, including stealing a slice from me!

I’ve tried Oppie on Pure Balance, and the best food brands out there

I refuse garbage like pedigree and stuff.

he won’t eat anything except that bag of Iams and on OCCASION he’ll get raw.

Wondering if anyone else has an Akita?

....

I also notice a few members are discussing foods,
any recommendations for larger dogs?

I much prefer feeding them fresher, organic kind of stuff.
I'm not really into that tinned food,
and neither are they.

Here's my Akita

Odin.
He's 11 months old,
i only got him today.
I'm very worried, though.

Akitas are very loyal dogs,
i'm not sure how they deal
with rehoming..

His previous owner got sick,
and it was passed on to me.

Perhaps somebody knows more on
this than i do..?

he is still young, and i hope already trained well enough at most basic work.
but stay at it, train him in sit, down stay, come, leave it, take it, wait....and so on...also try to let him alone now and then in your home or a room...like going out of the door wait a bit and get back in as if you never did go out of the room...those Dogs can be a bit clingy when new owner in young years...

i also would get a trainer, ....also meet as many animal, dogs of different gender and human!!! and when you only sit somewhere with him eating a cake and tea and watching people...but not to much...so that your dog does not get aggressive against dog-animal or People.

Hope you write more and show pics of this sweet, he looks like a aki near us^^

Hey, anybody got tips on how to get my dog's teeth clean? I've tried those bones with bristles that are supposed to help, but my dog won't touch them. If you guys could suggest some other toys, that'd be great!

a animal-dog ddentist or your vet will do a good first cleaning, and when you want and with some Dogs it is bether, let them check once a year^^
there is some gel or such our vet talked about with one dog owner once..but not sure....
some bones and fur on leather could help...like dryed cow ears with fur on it...or some vegi an fruit can help(only what People told..dont really know^^)
Please klick them or they will die°°!!!

@youth - i would love to own an akita in the future! some people down the road from us own one. they look like bears to me, lol! very intimidating dogs. i wouldn’t wanna make one mad.

as for food, my doberman and mastiff mix eat diamond naturals. they love it and honestly so does the cat. it doesn’t make them sick or fatten them up. it makes them full though. i really would recommend it cause i haven’t had any problems with it. im not sure what it does for dog’s coats or anything.

i fed our other dog ferris victor dog food for a little bit. its cheap on chewy.com. i would also recommend that as it has great ratings!

@Luzien
Thanks! I'll try to talk to my parents about it. My dog, Obi, has had some stinky breath lately!

@Ayeyuh, You have nothing to worry about! My 5 month old puppy coco, she has been losing her teeth and getting very stinky breath! We thought it could have been a infection so we Room her to the vet and they said it was fine, once she lost all her teeth it would start going away since food tends to get under the teeth that are growing in, but it depends how old your dog is and has he/she lost all her teeth yet?Do you see any food in between his/her teeth? It could be that.

oh gosh I personally think the working Neopolitans are so much more gorgeous.
but that's usually the case for most breeds.

    theres also :

and heres an old pug vs. new :

its pretty sad what we do to make dog breeds look 'cute'
