I have a 10 year old Chinese Crested. She has a grade three heart murmur but doesn't need meds yet, though she is on some supplements. She doesn't have any limitations due to her heart so we're lucky that way.

I like Basset Hounds. :) Do you have any pictures of your baby you can share?

Here's my Akita

....

Odin.

....

He's 11 months old,
i only got him today.
I'm very worried, though.

Akitas are very loyal dogs,
i'm not sure how they deal
with rehoming..

His previous owner got sick,
and it was passed on to me.

Perhaps somebody knows more on
this than i do..?

He's adorable! At such a young age rehoming shouldn't be a problem. Keep your expatiations consistent and reasonable (don't let him do things now you don't want him doing in the future). When I adopted Chloe our holistic vet made her a spirit essence to help her adjust to her new home that seemed to help. And there are premade ones on the market if that's something you'd like to try.

Don't overwhelm him, no inviting over company to show him off or taking unnecessary outings for awhile. Take time to let him settle in and figure out his new family. Here's a video about brining home a new dog that may help you out...

Congrats on the new addition!

Hey, anybody got tips on how to get my dog's teeth clean? I've tried those bones with bristles that are supposed to help, but my dog won't touch them. If you guys could suggest some other toys, that'd be great!
