I'm so sorry, both of you! I can't imagine losing my babies. Persephone was beautiful.

I currently have three little nubians, two girls and a wether. they are about two and a half months old right now, still cute as can be. i can try and get some pictures later, if they will stop and be still enough. I have a question though; do they learn their names well? it doesn't seem like any of them, especially our boy, are catching on. and, about how much grain do you guys give your goats, if any? It seems like everyone has their own idea. CX

Edit: first is bear, the wether. Then his sister, who my mom calls princess since we never found a fitting name. Then sunshine, their half sibling. :) ImageImage Image sunshine just wanted to eat the camera :3

Thanks, she really was pretty.
Your goats are all so adorable! I have to say, nubians are one of my favorite breeds. All of my babies do know their names! I've found saying their name as you give that goat a treat helps a lot. I give Aurora a cup and a half of grain a day. Persephone got a cup. Faylinn and Chloe get a small handful every two days. Orion gets a few prices every two days. For the mamas, we also mix/ed a small scoop of black oil sunflower seeds, shredded beet pulp, and two scoops of goat balancer for extra vitamins. They have free access to water changed twice daily, grass hay, a little alfalfa hay, goat minerals, and baking soda, along with the grass and weeds in their run. They get a bit of a cookie daily.

i will definitely try that! My friend said corn chips is what she trained hers with.

Um I went to let them out this morning and princess is acting weird. She won't eat! Usually she is the first to the bowl. Also she is really sluggish, and it seems like she can't meh? She kind of chokes on it whenever she tries. And her stomach kind of expands. Help!!!

Edit: she won't even take a bottle. I put some gi soother in it.

heello!!
i am pillow, and very thankful to have stumbled upon this thread.
we currently have 4 goats, lillith and pheobe (angora fiber goats), and elliot and ester (nigerian dwarf goats), and many more to come. our fibers are currently being bred, with our little nigerian to be bred in january. we also do boer goats in the summer((preferably my favorite goat, besides little nigerians cx))
it started off as a 4-h project, and kind of escalated from there.
i absolutely love my goats and their dorkish behavior.

Ahh... welcome Pillow! I agree with y'all. Love Nigerians haha! Cute, small, sweet... and they come in every color too!

Speaking of Nigerians, I am soooo excited for babies from ours next year! All 3 Nigerian does are (hopefully) bred! Stormi I'm pretty sure is, as she's not came back in heat, waiting to see if the other 2 come back in or not... also hopefully got my Mini Nubian doe bred! Just 1 doe left to breed now.
