What brings you to the bird chat?: I love birds but I never thought I would actually get one. I first came here to get some advice from experienced bird owners on what to do and what not to do. Now I have a bird so I want to introduce you all to

Ace! He's a male parakeet. He's still new, and still adapting to his new home.



In this picture you can see him sitting on the perch in front of the door so he can escape the next time I open it and fix something.. Smart bird..

We are unsure if he was sick or if just old age. He was sleeping much more than usual and he was less active. But then again we had him 7-8 years.

Adorable budgie Silver! He seems to know where the door is, so make sure you wire it shut! Before my budgies went in the aviary, they were in a cage and I discovered they knew how to open and the doors.

Woah, really? That's what Berk was doing, too... She'd been looking after infertile eggs for awhile so I thought maybe she wore herself out, but maybe /she/ was getting old, too o.o

Hey guys. I'm sad to say I'm hopping on the bad news train :'(
My blue little budgie has been getting beat up by my other 2 budgies and today I wasn't able to get there fast enough to stop their right before they could do any damage. He was in bad condition for a while and i tried to make him as comfortable as possible, but he passed away. ill miss you deedee </3

On a lighter note, Zazu and I have discovered a new love- strawberry and banana smoothies. I made one for breakfast this morning and my little guy is OBSESSED. I finished it twenty minutes ago and he's still begging for more, lol. Do any of your birds have foods that they really love like that?

Aww, I can imagine Zazu's little beak covered in smoothie! The only thing I can get the doves/budgies/finches to eat is banana and kale.. oh well! This April I'm going to check the bird show for more diamond doves, and maybe ringnecks and budgies. There are different bird shows worldwide so check if there's one coming up in your area; they have great prices on seed/toys and birds. :3

Definitely, his beak was a mess honestly XD. He loves to get it filthy and then rub it all over my clothes.

Oooh, bird shows sound awesome! I've never been to one. There don't seem to be too many in my area but I'll keep a look out.
