I've recently discovered button quail, as cute as the name suggests! Never had poultry but I would get button quail. Little tiny birds that lay little tiny eggs. Can't really be more than a pet, luckily, not suitable as meat or egg laying machines.

.... they count as poultry right? At least similar.

They're very skittish! They fit in a guinea pig cage (my ag teacher used to have them). They were cute but I personally like something friendlier c:

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that. I was watching a reptile room tour and the guy really surprised me 'cuz the tank had little birds'n eggs in it. Then I imagined myself tediously cracking tiny egg on a side of a pan and eating the little spoonful amount and celebrating the rare delicacy. I actually hate eggs.

I bred button quail for two years,
They hate people, they are practically untameable, but they have cute babies.
They make nice noises but aren't really worth the effort.

I'd say if your really set on it, give me a pm because I've raised them but otherwise they really aren't great.

Bobwhite quail seem cute as well.

Buttons seem to be more 'ornamental' rather than pets

One of my hens eggs hatched last night. Her and the baby are in their new coop now, the chick is so cute. I've had so many baby chicks but they're still as cute as ever.

They are exactly that, cute to look at not to take care of.

Anyone have chickens? Ive gotten great advice but more opinions are welcome. A close friend has a small flock and her two larger rhodeislands are being dicks and bullying her smaller hens. Ive been wanting chickens forever so offered to take them. I have a 40inch x 28 inch hen house (not including egg box) with a 2ft x 6ft run that feeds into a 5ft x 5ft area... about 40sqft space. Whats good chicken enrichment? What are some must haves? Any advice is good advice!
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe
