the paper bird spreads its wings
as kind human hands release it from its prison of strings
it rockets up into the sky
and passes shooting stars
all bloodied by broken hearts
torn apart

by the sharks that came with the hurricane
and the bird tries to fly farther away
but it cannot go and it cannot stay
there is something that is keeping it bound to ground so it can’t fly
an invisible string tying down it’s wings

it dives back down and skims the ground
passing the shooting stars bloodied by broken hearts
and it passes the paper sharks that came with the hurricane
it follows the string back to the kind human hands
and sings

Greed is in this world and Gold is only one of many things that causes greed.

we went from a soft mellow to a loud echo: a prompt connection
to a broken heart. it takes a special person to see their faults, and
it takes two exceptional humans to observe the pain and misunder
-standing and create a passionate display of forgiveness and intention
and love. i don't believe in love at first site, and neither do you; but love
at first heartbreak is an even honest emotion. wouldn't you say?
i must somberly submit to my desire to shield your precious existence,
and you must instantaneously and at the same time, erase your need
to pull away. shattered hearts can't make love, but two broken hearts
could.
