I've wanted to host an art contest for a very long time! So why not now? I want some creative lion designs.
Prizes:
First place gets to pick 5. Second gets 4. Third picks 3. Runner ups may pick one each after the winners have chosen. Pets shown below are just a preview. The full prize pool can be found HERE.
WINNERS
It took some time for me to decide, but I've finally decided on the winners!
FIRST PLACE: Entry I by Isarine
#1 because this seemed to be the most creative design of the bunch, I fell in LOVE with this one instantly! I like the extra fluff, the tusks, the steampunk, AND it comes with the bonus of a sidekick. AMAZING!
SECOND PLACE: Entry III by Pinesong
The selling point for this one was probably the slightly pointed ears. It was a tough choice to decide between your entries, but along with the multiple tails, he also had a color scheme I was very fond of (blue and orange)! Well done!
THIRD PLACE: Entry II by Annalisette
My favorite thing about this entry was the dark base with the lighter colored mane! I also really like the spine design on the back. Thank you so much for entering!
Rules:
- End date: March 7th
- No bases or editable lineart! Art must be 100% your own.
- Both digital and traditional mediums are accepted
- No limit to the number of entries but you cannot win more than 1 prize slot (example: one artist will not win both 1st place and 3rd place prizes for their entries)
- Judging will be based on the design, not the quality, so don't be afraid to enter even if you aren't confident with your skills! Remember, everyone will get a prize at the end!
- Inappropriate art will be disqualified
- I own the designs of the winners
Prompt:
I like the primary color to be natural with a complimenting secondary color that is unnatural; however, if you have an idea for your own color palette then I say go for it! Try not to go too crazy with neons if possible. The body should resemble a lion (or any big cat) but you can have fun with it. More legs? Why not? Who says they should only have one head? How about wings? Mane on a lioness? Have fun with it! Of course, you don't have to adjust the anatomy if you don't want to. Questions may be posted or PMed to me at any time!
