Re: Dungeons and Dragons Club

Postby StormSerpent » Wed Mar 06, 2019 7:30 am

Hey guys, I know pretty much nothing about DnD but I’ve been wanting to play for a while.
The one time that I got to play I was so excited but it was awful, I had no idea what I was doing and disqualified myself in the beginning and everyone completely failed and we ran out of time halfway through.
But I recently found a dnd thing and I hope it will be better!

Sorry if that sounds awkward and dumb and if I should leave

Hey, Stormserpent! I'm sorry your first game didn't go too good, sometimes it's difficult to organize, and it can be overwhelming at first. I've found once you've played for a bit it starts to flow pretty easily. I'm a bit curious what you mean by "disqualifying" yourself though. Either you had a really mean DM or you must've really done something bad
I hope it works out for you the second time around! If you have any questions feel free to post here, we have a few people playing in our current campaign that are experienced (including me!) that could help you if you need anything.

I sit around and play dnd and stuff.
I casually watch anime, mostly just
Sweetness and Lightning tho.

Thank you ♥ DnD seems super fun. It wasn't a DnD group they just have a session once a month for fun so that was probably a lot of it.
and i was examining something and everyone left without me and the DM said i couldn't rejoin or do anything

It is a lot of fun! That honestly sounds pretty awful of your group to first of all move on without you and secondly for the DM to say you can't join back. At the very least the DM could've just added in that you caught up to the party after investigating.

You mentioned before that you found a dnd thing, have you already made your character for that?

that's awful. our dm, who's real nice anyway, even let someone join in after we had already started. easily the same could have been done for you, and you were already part of the team! </3 shame on them.

Making a new, simpler character for if I ever play my first campaign/game. She’s Yamarillo Feo, a stout halfing fighter. She has a spanish accent. She’s a chunky girl. I was going to make her short but she’s already a halfling. She’s not charismatic at all, but she is very strong and insightful. She sort of mumbles things (answers, advice, etc). If someone tells her idea is bad (not with her insight >:)), she will just go with that person (or thing)’s idea. She speaks Orc and something else for practicalllity. She used to be a sage (her or her parents)

Her parents abandoned her because they thought she was ugly but she’s fine now.

I think she’s 19-22

I just can’t figure out what her alignment should be.

    sounds well interesting!
my friends & i didn't bother at all with alignment, & i thought it was becoming increasingly irrelevant.
anyone else using alignment (or not)?

woah !! i left for health stuff, but i'm so happy to come back and see the thread all decorated and such !! :0c honestly i came back to cs to see if i could get more dnd pals sfuidgfsui

would i be able to join the discord? ik there's a link on the front page, i just feel a little funky hoppin in without askin, ya feel?

also a note on the alignment thing; tbh i only find alignment useful in the case of extremes. for instance, in my campaign, i have a lawful good paladin who is very strict abt her oaths. we're currently in a very crime-centric arc, and it plays HUGELY into how she acts, so it comes up often.

but the rest of our characters ? honestly the alignments (two chaotic neutrals and a true neutral) never really come up in a significant way. but, on the other hand, i think losing the alignments entirely might lead to a bit of spiral towards evil, at least with my players
