My aunt just repotted this bad boy, and I decided to drive all the way to her house just to see the baby. c: I took a picture at the right time, when I just had to go! My aunt literally had to kick me out because my eyes couldn't leave precious, ah I'm so jealous. unu

So I've started growing Orchids. My Moths are all doing great, but the Pink Lady's Slipper is...less so. Does anyone grow these, or have any tips? I keep it moist, not wet, don't let it dry out, keep it in well draining slightly acidic soil, water it with water with a water soluble orchid mix and let it run out the bottom, feed it, but though the leaves are firm and half lifted the tips are browning and it had not bloomed again.

    @The Kraken
      I'm so sorry for not replying initially; but cacti are a form of succulent so they should be a-ok. Are they doing okay right now? Have they rooted well? {The tiny shoot looks super cute, I can't wait to hear of it's progress}

    @Irisidium
      How are your mint coming along? I bet you've got tonnes of it now!

    @Obsessed
      I adore wisteria! It's so pretty; make sure to keep us updated on your's progress.
      {I'll add you as soon as I post this}

      I've never had a huge amount of trouble with mint, when I was growing it indoors I kept it on a north-west-ish facing window, so it would probably be in partial sun, and watered whenever the soil seemed too dry - though I would probably avoid letting it dry out fully.

      As for orchids, I'm afraid I'd be a bit useless as they're a bit out of my comfort zone, but maybe they aren't getting all the nutrients they need from the orchid mix? Have you tried adding some fertilizer and seeing if that helps balance out it's needs?

    @Lpsloveraj
      oh goodness, what a pretty plant!
      {this might sound silly, but what is it? It looks familiar but I can't figure out quite what it is.}

@wenom Hehe, hopefully I can get another one soon! cx

@Obsessed thank you! I had her for a little while now. ^^

@frostykitty Oh my, Coleus flowers are absolutely beautiful.

Wow, I haven't talked about my orchids in a while! I have some great news though (sorry for posting a lot as well, hehe) one of my beauties have grown into one of my favourite plants!

Eeee! It's so gorgeous! I'm pretty sure it's a Phalaenopsis. <3 Though, this is when it was in full bloom. I have a slight problem right now. It has lost all its flowers. It has 2 very long stems (about 30 in each). I think it needs a trim as well, where should I cut it so that it continues to grow tall?

@Lpsloveraj Did it lose it's flowers while they were buds? Or were they blooming? If so, how long was it in bloom? If the flower stems are still green they don't need to be trimmed back, but if you want to (and it might encourage blooming) you can cut back about three nodes (the tiny weird small leaf-ish protrusions). Hope that's a little helpful! If the flowers dropped while they were still buds, it was probably from a sudden change. If they were flowers and had previously been blooming fine for about 2-3 weeks, it's natural. They were just finishing up on the bloom cycle. If they were flowering, and then suddenly dropped off before that time frame, however, it was probably the same reason that causes buds to drop off. Here's a quote from an article that lists some causes for 'bud blast':

justaddiceorchids wrote:Knowing the common causes of bud blast can help you protect your Orchid and keep it healthy:
•Exposure to drafts and other sudden temperature changes are the primary cause of bud blast.
•Because Orchids obtain much of their moisture from the air, changes in humidity can also trigger bud loss.
•The ethylene gas emitted by ripening fruit (including oranges, apples, bananas, etc.) can cause bud blast in orchids that are displayed in the same area. If you keep a fruit bowl on your kitchen counter or table, do not display your orchid nearby.

The Orchid in your picture is gorgeous btw!

Image This is my favorite.
