Somehow I had to tweak my post to get the striking to show up...
Huh...

Anyways, whenever I decide to get up and go onto my laptop I'd be up for a Chatzy xD

welcome you guys! everyone has been added to the front page.
and it looks a lot like things have been completely dead this whole weekend rip. so in order to get things up a little bit, i have a question:

      Code: Select all
what do you think makes for a successful roleplay?

i'm asking out of curiosity because i've noticed that most roleplays nowadays, whether large or small and no matter how interesting or well-planned, tend to die after the first few pages. it seems to be nearly impossible to keep things going and/or keep everyone interested. so in asking this, we can find some sort of loophole from his roleplaying purgatory lmao

anyway i'm thinking it has something to do with the motivation to post? like people joining all these roleplays and making forms, but when it comes time to actually begin posting, many of them bail or lose motivation. it might be because of long post lengths or maybe the plot is too slow for them? idk

what do you think makes for a successful roleplay?

In my opinion, most of it is activity. Half the ones I join die because of one person who's crucial to the plot leaves, and then people go and follow.

However I've found that often times ones with plots tend to last longer. Would you rather join a school-based rp or an rp about the things caused by a certain group or club in said school? Camp, or camp focused around a fighting tournament and training campers for it? Not to say that all roleplays with interesting plots survive, but to people like me they're preferable.

Although I'm curious about what others have to say ^·^

i feel like people often spread themselves too thin a
nd join a plethora of role plays with wholehearted in
tentions which often turns awry once the work load i
s increased. i myself admit to being overwhelmed by
fantastic plots and too little time.
but i think the members of the rp are really importan
t as well, since there are some members of the rp co
mmunity that tend to create a form then fail to do an
ything following the initial involvement.
however this is definitely not the case for all role pla
yers since there are also users that are able to manag
e their time and rps to where they can fulfill all of th
eir obligations. i think a good solution for this clearly
evident problem would be invite only rps or maybe (a
s an individual user) to join one or two rps and solely
focus on them to where they remain active since then
those one or two rp/s would be the only priority, ther
efode making it easier to maintain activity.
sorry i didn't realize i had so much to say
