giratina's awakening in norkas just one year ago effectively d
ecimated most of the region, rendering many guilds inopera
ble after the ashes cleared. this includes arcanum, a large g
uild whose base burnt down during giratina's rampage. disc
ouraged, hope seems scarce for the surviving arcanum mem
bers until an unlikely aid came to them. lakefield guild, arca
num's bitter rival, offered to open its gates to house arcanu
m for the time being. reluctantly agreeing, who knows what
would unfold when two rivalling guilds and its members are
put under one roof? will they thrive or fall in their animosity?

norkas is dotted with guilds, an association of pokemon trainers who would generally aid i
n the daily movement of society. from teaching younger, aspiring trainers to providing mili
tary aid for the local government; guilds are a major force behind norkas' wheels!! two of t
he most prominent guilds are arcanum and lakefield. arcanum is known for their rather sha
dy deals, facilitating contraband smuggling, artefacts theft, and other under the table cont
racts. arcanum has a bitter rivalry with lakefield, no doubt thanks to how lakefield has ena
cted measures to shrink down norkas' notorious black market and due to a preexisting est
rangement between the respective guilds' leaders. when giratina awakened from the distor
tion world and wreaked havoc in norkas before it was subdued, arcanum incurred heavy lo
sses and pushed it to the brink of disbandment, prompting lakefield to lend its helping han
d. now having assimilated arcanum into lakefield, the members of the two rivalling guilds
must find a way to put their differences aside and help rebuild norkas!!

as the guildmaster of lakefield, the thaumaturge is one of its most prominent faces. she is
the childhood friend of the enchanter and they both formed lakefield when they were twe
nty years of age. though strict in her policies and firm in her leadership, anyone in lakefie
ld will always note how unbelievably kind and professional she is, always ready with an op
en helping hand. an adept battler and a strong leader, no wonder lakefield is regarded as o
ne of the best guilds in norkas. the thaumaturge has an estranged relationship with her yo
unger sister, the assassin, for their different ideals — sparking the intense rivalry between
lakefield and arcanum. in an effort to mend their relationship, the thaumaturge lent arca
num a helping hand by opening lakefield’s gates for their members


the enchanter - m - 24 - timid, intelligent, hardworking - specialises in buffing and
support - clefable, sawsbuck, cresselia - st. serpent

the enchanter, along with the thaumaturge, is the founder of lakefield. he is one of the gu
ild's most skilled asset, specialising in buffing his teammates and, when the need arises, h
ealing them to keep their performance at top class. the enchanter isn't too excited for arca
num's arrival in lakefield, but has relented on this sentiment after learning how they have l
ost much of everything after giratina's awakening. the enchanter has somewhat of an unre
quited crush on the striker, a senior member of lakefield. he's too intimidated by the strike
r, however, to let his feelings show


the priestess - f - 23 - diligent, patient, altruistic - specialises in healing and curing
(e.g. blissey, umbreon, celebi) - user

the priestess is one of the newer recruits of lakefield and is the official apprentice of the en
chanter, having been scouted by the latter at twenty-two years old. her humanitarian dispos
ition seems to stem from a rough upbringing, a past that she is, rightfully so, reluctant to sh
are with others. the priestess’ second to none work ethic and her growing skills in combat m
ake her a great supportive asset her teammates could reliably lean on. although, as the ench
anter would note, her initiative and confidence could need a boost. she is a childhood friend
of the gambler, they share a distant yet positive relationship irrespective of their guild’s ani
mosity against one another


the striker - m - 25 - ambitious, distant, intimidating - specialises in pokemon w
ith high attack stat (e.g. garchomp, tsareena, zacian) - user

the striker is one of the toughest veteran members of lakefield and, arguably, the physical
ly strongest among them all. despite his solitary and reclusive nature, he is greatly looked
upon by many of the newer recruits for his great skills, helpful counsel, and cool attitude.
his bold and efficient mindset as well as his fearlessness in the face of danger makes the s
triker one of the top-rate guild members for especially perilous, search and rescue mission
s. because of his specialty, he often takes the frontlines with the enchanter during battles

the assassin - f - 24 - cold, aloof, serious, patient - specialises in pokemon w high spe
ed stat (e.g. noivern, jolteon, darkrai) - user

the new guildmaster of arcanum, up until its quarters burned down during giratina’s awake
ning. the assassin is the archetypal guild member of arcanum: brooding, serious, cunning,
and rebellious. though arcanum suffered immense damages during giratina’s rage over nor
kas, many say that if not for the assassin’s tough-as-nails leadership, arcanum may really j
ust disband for being unable to carry the injury that they incurred. the assassin is famed f
or taking morally questionable missions with quick efficiency, making her quite popular in
norkas’ black market. she was hesitant at her older sister’s offer, the thaumaturge, to ass
imilate arcanum members with lakefield’s until the former guild could pick up their footin
g again. left with no other option, the assassin begrudgingly took the offer of help


the wall - m - 25 - friendly, intimidating, emotional, selfless - specialises in pokemon
with high defence stat (e.g. blastoise, gigalith, cobalion) - user

if the assassin is the archetypal face of what an arcanum member looks like, the wall is he
r opposite. his rugged, towering, intimidating build hides a soft heart and friendly demean
our which makes for a stark contrast to his tough exterior. though the wall won’t hesitate t
o take on the offence, he believes diplomacy and smooth communication is key in solving e
ven the biggest of all problems. in fact, it was him who helped convince the assassin to acc
ept lakefield’s help. as a veteran of arcanum, the wall oversees the training of the trickste
r, proudly seeing her as his junior


the trickster - f - 23 - mischievous, optimistic, calculative - specialises in debuffs &
pokemon with status condition moves (e.g. grimmsnarl, sableye, nihilego) - user

the trickster is an impish, sociable, and chaotic new recruit of arcanum. a true anarchist a
t heart, her discordant attitude makes others deem her a wild card: you’ll never guess wha
t cruel trap she has for you until it’s just a little bit too late. the trickster specialises in a p
articularly niche technique designed in slowly crippling her opponents’ ability to fight back
instead of outright offence. her personable, chaotic, and extraverted nature makes her a p
opular face around norkas’ underworld of gangs and criminals. she has a very positive supe
rior-subordinate relationship with the wall, whom she admires


the gambler - m - 23 - relaxed, calm, lazy, observant - specialises in pokemon w bal
anced stats (e.g. lucario, kingdra, victini) - user

the gambler is nothing short of a showman, prized by arcanum for his ability to read peopl
e with just a glance and his especially unique battling technique which is masqueraded be
hind his sleazy, laidback attitude. the gambler is a free-spirit but harbours a surprising de
sire to help the subjugated. this makes arcanum the most suitable fit for his paradoxical n
ature, for the guild provides him the means to aid those in need without too much of a bu
reaucratic oversight from the higher-ups (unlike, well, lakefield). the gambler is a childho
od friend of the priestess, despite their differing personalities
