When the Shogun (ShigeShige) dies in Gintama.

For most of the show, he's just comic relief until you get to the Shogun Assassination Arc and the show switches to being serious and the emotional weight of everything hits you like a ton of bricks. The arc had already made me cry when I though Ayame and Zenzou died, (thankfully they're still alive and kicking), so I was already an emotional mess.

When ShigeShige died it hurt because all the sacrifices the character made in order to protect ShigeShige had gone to waste and he died anyway.

Alexander Hamilton from the play Hamilton. I finally listened all the way through the soundtrack, and I cried so much when he was shot, it was such a noble way to die. And right after Eliza forgave him, too... *wipes away tear*

Snowfurs death didn't break my heart not becuase she was my favourite character, but becuase of how it all happened. Snow fur insisted on leaving the camp, and all she wanted to do was stretch her legs. It wasn't her fault feeling that way, after being cooped up in camp. She was reckless, yes, but she had her reasons. When Bluefur came home, Whitekit thought Snowfur would be there too. He thought she was hiding, which broke my heart even more that he was clueless. When Bluefur tolled him she wouldn't be coming back, the fact that he still didn't know what was happening was just saddening. And the fact that Bluefur had taken the blame wasn't fair at all.
