I'd stick with sims 3. In my honest opinion
I spent $150 dollars on sims 4 and I don't
think it was worth it. Which really sucked
cause i'd been saving up for a while.

As for expansion packs I think you should
get seasons. It's my favorite expansion
followed by island paradise and pets.
Seasons is really good cause you get
like the different seasons and holidays.
I love when its winter and my sims make
snowman. It's perfect for my frozen game
that I'm going to play soon.

But it's totally up to you. Just because some
people don't like sims 4 doesn't mean you
won't.

Geez, $150? You must be shopping in teh wrong places, I got mine new from an actual store for $53 xD I like it. I prefer it over the sims 3 simply because it runs better on my computer. But I don't ever have a situation where I would prefer sims 3... If that makes any sense xD

With my challenge, I have been playing it all yesterday and most of today. Did a little research and turns out that hair colours in the sims 4 only show in the teen stage. Child #1 Had blonde hair with pink tips and brown eyes, Child #2 blonde hair pink eyes, Child #3 and has blonde hair brown eyes, Child #4 currently has brown hair (BROWN?! Where did that come from? Maybe this will turn pink? *fingers crossed*) and Child #5 currently has blonde hair pink eyes. I am actually really getting into this challenge, it's exciting!

Yep. $150. I pre-ordered it last year when it
came out. Plus it was the Platinum collectors
edition.

Paislee's just got married to Eddie Mullis.
Ohh and the town I'm playing in is Alpine
County. I'm in love with this world.

If purchased via Origin right now, The Sims 4 has a 58% discount from the original price, so it might be worth getting. It has a 33% discount on it and if you use the ORIGIN25 promotional code they have going on you get an extra 25% off. I purchased it with the two expansions for just a little more than the Deluxe Edition costs by itself.

As for whether to go Sims 4 or Sims 3 expansion, it depends on what you are looking for? I all around prefer Sims 3 due to the open world feel, the family aspect of it (I'm one of those that severely misses the Toddler stage.) and all around the game itself just feels funner, and seeing as how you already own The Sims 3 it makes sense to expand upon that and get the remaining expansions, especially if you still play it regularly.

The Sims 4 as I said currently has a half off sale if you add the code discount, which makes it much more affordable, but unlike with the expansions it's a different game and therefore will give you an overall smaller experience as opposed to enhancing your already existing one. If you feel like a bare bones, vanilla version of what essentially feels like a sequel to The Sims 2 over one to The Sims 3 (Please note this is not a stab at the game, as The Sims 2 has its excellent moments~) would be too little for the price, then the expansions are definitely the way to go.

That said, my recommendations for expansions to get are Ambitions and Island Paradise. They both offer new worlds and so much content for your sims to do. They are both among my top expansions. =)

Cross everything for me I'm gonna try installing pets again and hopefully it won't crash and burn this time

Thing is I've checked, I went on a website that scanned my computer and checked the requirements for certain games and it says I should be able to play it. The only thing that's wrong is Windows 8 but EA has confirmed that Sims works on Windows 8

I JUST REALLY WANT TO BREED PRETTY HORSES IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK

I will happily uninstall all my expansion packs just so I can play this one

EDIT

omg it is working even with all the expansion packs it still runs fairly smoothly, i have a slight panic attack when the game freezes but the game before pets did that anyway, and yes yes yes i have bred my first foal

Trying to get back into roleplaying, haven't done it for a while. I like roleplaying wolves but they have to be realistic so no alpha beta delta and especially no healer ranks. I like big cats, horses, cats. I like roleplaying warrior cats. I don't play a lot with human characters unless they're shapeshifters or dragon riders.

So if you have a roleplay that needs more members send me a PM.

Naww you're horse is very cute koolkatkoolkat123.
I personally love that sims have horses. Horses
are my favourite animal so yeah <3.

Talking about horses I'm thinking of starting
the 50 foal challenge. What do you guys think?

Update on Paislee. She's married to Eddy Mullis
and is pregnant with twins. A girl and a boy. How
do I know this? Because I played with them the
other day and Paislee had them. I named them
Damon and Delilah. Damon grows up fine with
the right hair but not eyes. But as soon as I try
to age Delilah up my game crashes. It's happened
twice now. So next time I'm playing I'll take her
into CAS and make her a toddler there.
Question of the day. What's your favourite life
span to play?

Mine personally is toddlers because they are
really cute and I love teaching them to walk
and talk. I just find it really cute.
That's another thing I don't like about sims 4,
no toddlers :(

Possibly Young Adult. I've always been the type of player that loves the adult stage of Sims. And while I am not too big on the Toddler stage - with the exception of when I have a Daycare Sim - I love the fact that they are an added stage of life, so I definitely understand not liking the fact that they are not being available on Sims 4.

As for the game crashing every time you try to age up Delilah, have you tried doing a full cache clear? I found I had to do this recently to my game as my file kept crashing even after clearing the basic cache.

I find the Imaginary Friend Legacy to be an insanely fun challenge. One of my favorites for sure. =D At least on TS3. I haven't really done much on TS4 as I am still on my first save file, although I am very much trying out a basic legacy of sorts on my first go, if anything because I am a sucker for legacy challenges. XD

Does anyone here play the xbox version of the sims 3?
My computer decided to stop allowing me to play mine and I finally got around to borrowing the xbox version. So far one thing I've found that is rather annoying is that you can not kick someone out without removing them from the game? does that actually happen or no? I haven't tried it for the fear of the sim truly being deleted, but just the thought alone.. it bothers me because I've been dying to do a legacy challenge but I don't want to kill the parents when the teen becomes a young adult but I also don't want 4 + sims in my house or anything.
