Great, now add a new layer by clicking
the square symbol next to the trash can.
Click and drag the new layer to the bottom of the
layer list so that it becomes our new background.

Use the magic wand tool on the left to
select the areas that you want to delete.
shift+click = select more than one area
ctrl+click = deselect an area
Click "delete" on your keyboard
to delete the selected areas.
Hit ctrl+Z if you want to undo an action.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxNow use the eraser to clean up the
edges.
Make sure to use the eraser with the blurred
edges, not the one with the solid edges. It's
best if the eraser is rather large compared to
your image so that the effect is more blurred
and soft. Notice how I barely even touch the edge
of my eraser to my image to get the effect I want.
Optional: Aftwards, you can drag the
blur tool (tear-shaped icon) over the treated
edges to give the image a nice finish.
Note: Zooming in on your work during this
process will help you be more precise.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally,
save your image as a
PNG.
Do NOT save your work as a JPG or the
background will not be transparent.
