This is very helpful! If I ever get my act together, I may end up opening an art shop. (Doesn't look very likely at the moment. x3) The codeword thing is definitely one of my pet peeves. I don't have a whole lot of experience in the art forums, but in roleplay forums, it's just as bad. If I come up with any suggestions, I'll let you know, but I think you covered everything. (:

Perhaps the whole: Keep payment FAIR thing. If it's just a bad-quality scribble in one colour then no-one is going to pay 3 uncommons. If it's the other end of the scale, and you're doing artwork compared to Boquetblu or Tyr standard and wanting 3 commons that isn't fair on you, the artist. Unless that is what you want to compleate your collection ^^/.

I read through the whole thing and agreed with every single one of the points you made...especially the point about keeping your cool. ;3 I've seen quite a number of arguements/flame wars start because the artists was just being bad-tempered.
No matter if the customer is being annoying/rude, don't scream at them and stay professional. If you need to rant, there's an Artist Rant thread for that. >;

Very good. For the example part, I think you should add this : I think you show all of your art works even the bad ones. If you keep on showing customers your good ones only and they will expect that from you. When you do a bad quality then the customers will just be disappointed. Because of that you will lose some commissions. So show all of your works and people can have a wide exceptions of you instead I expect them to do that good quality of art. Then be disappointed when you don't. (I think I repeated the point several times. *blush* The emoticons didn't work and that is why I put that. )
