Just resurrecting this thread to say I hope everyone is staying safe from the fires going on at the moment and previously in the ye.

I also thought this might be a good alternate place to have safe discussions, let out feelings and views about these fires and the issues surrounding them with friends/people who don't necessarily have vested interests in your personal views.
What I mean by this is that (for example) I studied science and climate change and believe in it (although not necessarily global warming), but I feel like I can't say this to some people I know and family. However, I'm still super open to discuss it, just that most people close to me don't realise or are too opinionated!

HOWEVER I also respect if CS is where you have come to escape CS and if you would rather talk about anything else and celebrate the good things about Aus, of which there is many xx

I dunno how is in there.... But I've heard some "strange things".... Is it true that government give green light on killing 10 000 camels because they have come to close to settlements? I mean, it is all over news in my country.... I hope that is not true it will be sad to kill them just because they run from fire....

only in south australia, where they are massive pests. they aren’t running from fires, but they are invading towns looking for water in the drought. it’s sad, but it has to be done :”(
