This is great! I'm very used to the Oekaki, so now I can draw at about an Intermediate level (according to the description) but I can never get out of Beginner's. Plus, all the Advanced Oekakis in Intermediate get lots of attention, while the less advanced ones are sad.

But, I do have one problem. The background thing. A piece of art doesn't need a background to be complete. I did a micography portrait, it looked something like this (but no this piece of art is not mine it just gives you an idea) -xxx-. I didn't add a background on mine, I just left it blank. And it looked great, in my opinion. Shading and everything. But no background.

You can use these two as examples if you want, I think they would either go in Beginner or Intermediate. I know how to use Oekaki It's just that my mouse is horrible for this kind of stuff... And by the way, I don't like going for realistic stuff, I stick with more cartoon like art.

That's just the guidelines. I don't think that a white background is going to be considered 'not a bg', (but tell me if it is considered that, anyone who'd know) but if it has those dots or stripes you can make your brush, or its transparent, I think they'll consider that incomplete, or something like that.
That's what I'm guessing, at least.

I think this is a marvelous idea. I've improved in my drawing skills, but I'm still stuck in Beginner's because I'm not as good as some of the people who post in Intermediate. Thanks so much for adding this in, Tess!

Awesome! I found many artists seemed out of place in both 2 catagories so haveing a middle ground will be sweet!

I have a question though, will all the pre-change art stay in the categories they were originally posted in?
