trying to remember how to paint BG things

tbh I've actually been struggling real hard to do any kind of BG work for a while now and I guess I'm just trying to reassure myself that I can in fact still do this

Don't even worry, you can, in fact, still do it!
Let yourself off the hook sometimes, you don't have to always know with 100% confidence exactly what you're doing at all times. Play around. You got this!

Not everything has to be "perfect" y'know, take it easy. Take a breath, keep practicing, and take breaks when you feel discouraged. You've created such amazing works, you'll never forget the muscle memory that you carry with you. Forgive yourself for the little things.

thank you, I always appreciate your comments! yeah I think I've probably been a bit hard on myself lately in regards to BG paintings, part of it I think comes from my knowledge/eyes kinda surpassing my actual skills? man I remember there was a really nice artist growth chart infographic about this that I can't find atm. but it's a very normal (but sucky) part of trying to grow as an artist

Now the background tutorials feel like draw the rest of the owl memes hahahaha. Not on you, but when you say "draw grass blades! Just make strokes up!" I am like.... 'my grass blades don't look like yours fam!'

It's astounding to me that the background god of CS is losing faith in their backgrounds. That's how I see you, the background god. Believe you me, I never noticed a difference, therefore it's probably the case of the creative's mean brain. I swear only artists suffer from a little voice that downplays all their work. I hate it.
