it was a relatively quiet day. the birds chirped in the early morning frost.
it was peaceful.
that is, until the police cars rounded the corner.
the komo looked behind her, the wind blowing through her fur. she looked back
to the road ahead of her and eased the gas just a little bit lower until she had
the pedal to the floor. she made sure to adjust the covers on the artwork in the
seat next to her, and stuck her head out the window, making sure not to pull
the bandanna from her mouth. "you'll never catch me alive, suckers!" she howled,
in a surprisingly soft and gentle voice- one could never guess that someone
with a voice like that would be the leader of a huge museum heist.
ahead laid the most important part of the escape- the railroad. and just as she
expected, the train was coming close. she unbuckled her seatbelt, and slowed
down a small bit- much to the dismay of the officers close behind her. a huge,
blaring horn erupted from the train, the lights nearly blinding her, and-
the worst sound the officers ever heard. the three cars braked and stopped fast,
officers exiting their vehicles to gaze at the sight. the criminal's car had flipped
in midair, crashing down in a wave of shards, and rolled a few times.
an officer walked up to the car, and knelt down. a small note was taped on the
shattered glass window, and there was no body nor artwork to be found. the note
was just a yellow sticky note with a winky face draw on it.
the officer stomped his boot and yowled in frustration. he grit his teeth. "search the
train, and the surrounding woods. the car is to be kept as evidence. we aren't letting
her get away... again."
not too far away, on the top of the train, which was now slowing down, lay a pale,
fluffy komo, a dark red bandanna covering her mouth. she grinned, the artwork in one
arm, and hopped off the side ladder once the train had slowed enough. she heard the
loud yowl of the officer and snickered. she listened closely, sprinting away from the scene.
"whoever you are, karma's going to get you one day, thief!" she could hear one of the
police screaming at the top of his lungs.
"well," she murmured to herself, "if i believed in karma, i wouldn't be robbing museums,
would i?" she smiled subconsciously, and vanished into the early morning fog.
