what is a whelkon?

A Whelkon is an old, rare and a quite undiscovered species that seems to resemble a wolf, an elk and a dragon.
With it's long, hooved legs, strong majestic antlers and a wise wolve's head, they seem the ultimate ancient creatures.
They have a soft, forgiving nature but a spirit that will never be broken.
Roaming our lands, trying to survive each day and hoping they won't get discovered by the greedy human hands.

This beautiful girl reminds me of fun days with my friends from my old house/school/village. We used to go down a lane near us, and into the wood at the bottom, where the trees were the same colour as this Whelkon. Then we'd come out and go fishing for tiddlers in the river, this would always be in the nice summer breeze. So this is also where she got her name from.
