Apparently this harmed my computer (well was a contributing factor) according to AdwCleaner / Malware cleaner :(, Sorry....

Hey, I just did a quick search and this Reddit thread explains why this may have occurred (someone else had the same concern as you): https://www.reddit.com/r/Malwarebytes/comments/ju2ue1/is_tab_for_a_cause_actually_bad/
The extension shows ads on your home tab (to generate revenue for the charities you choose) so that's why it could've been picked up by the scanner.
