othy finch. her mother was stationed at a military fort at the time of c
onstance's birth where she assessed patients, maintained accurate mili
tary medical records, administered medication and reported to higher
medical specialists. she received her training in hopes of bettering her
life despite being born in the wasteland XVII. born constance finch, th
e entertainer spent the first few years of their life at their mother's st
ation. from the get-go, their father was never in their life. constance's
mother took care of them and went to great lengths to ensure that her
daughter's presence did not threaten her livelihood at the fort. doroth
y finch was a good-hearted woman and an even more benevolent moth
er. she tried her best to provide for constance and was careful when i
t came to revealing details of her daughter's paternity. luckily for her,
nobody of status in the fort cared about her personal dealings XVIII. w
hen constance was six years old, her mother passed away from an illn
ess. with no immediate family nearby, constance was sent away from

king through trash cans, begging for food on the streets and
stealing what she was capable of taking. she slept in aband
oned buildings or couches offered to her by sympathetic wa
steland families. for the latter, she would run off before sai
d families could contact local law enforcement about an ab
andoned child XX. several months after her mother's death
, constance met josiah adler, an enigmatic drifter who caug
ht her stealing from his campsite. despite his initial attemp
ts to run her off, he begrudgingly allowed her to stay when
it became clear to him how hungry she was. the rest is hist
ory XXI. for the next seven years, constance would stay wi
th josiah and wander new california. he taught her basic su
rvival skills such as foraging and hunting for food, building
a fire, shooting a low-level firearm, building a shelter, bas
ic first aid and creating potable water. he introduced cons
tance to new sights and educated her as best as a gruff va
gabond could. he protected constance during the most piv
otal years of her youth as well. within time, she began to
see him as a father figure and she managed to smooth out
his taciturn and tetchy exterior. as the years went on, it w
as no longer about survival with them two but rather livin
g life to the fullest and achieving an ideal lifestyle of ordi
nary wastelander comfort and unity. when constance was
thirteen years old, josiah ended up buying a small shack i
n the town of montclair, a quaint village located several
miles from dodger city. it took him over a year to save en
ough caps to afford the shack as he wanted constance to
have a permanent home and experience a sense of norma
lcy. he wanted constance to attend the local school while
he worked at one of the town's bars to make end's meet X
XII. on june 5th, 2417, josiah died from extensive head tr
auma after he tried to defend constance from the debauc

town's perimeters XXIII. after josiah's passing, life grew increasingly difficult
for constance. without a role model to follow and little caps to survive off of,
constance dabbled in various jobs and side work to make end's meet. they've
worked in retail, food service and the agriculture industry but have also gott
en jobs in nightclubs, bars and sleazy taverns. the pay and treatment she rec
eived depended on the job. constance was never able to make an honest livi
ng, though and had to move from place to place quite frequently XXIV. as ex
pected, constance's early childhood and the loss of the only parental figures
she's ever had took a toll on her. she was hostile, unsociable, aggressive and
quick to react. she was always suspicious of other people and cut off a numb
er of good people who sought to help her over the years. there was even a p
eriod of time where constance got involved with the wrong crowds. for a wh
ile, she was involved with numerous gangs where she helped assist them in r
obberies and other petty crimes. none of these groups were as mean or dang
erous as large-scale bandit gangs; they were small groups of trivial highwaym
en who mugged travelers on the open road. constance would participate in t
he robberies or play the part of a distressed woman in order to get the atten
tion of passing travelers. constance never stuck around these groups for very
long for local law enforcement was always quick to seek them out for arrest.
on the other hand, constance would become involved with disreputable peop
le (most having an unpleasant history with crime in the strip) and often steal
from said figures. most of the time, it never went well for her. at her worst,
constance would actively steal from good-natured wastelanders who she ma
naged to swindle with a sob story and at times, even rob them. she adapted

ance's entry into the rebellion was rather unconventional. res
cued off the streets by several undercover agents in dodger c
ity, constance was taken in and treated for osteomyelitis. the
infection was so severe by the time she received medical atte
ntion that both her legs had to be amputated from the knees
down. she received prosthetics in replacement, ones crafted
by conclave prosthetists and stolen from government transpo
rts XXVI. joining the rebellion was the turning point in consta
nce's life. they have been apart of the revolution for years no
w. constance has changed a lot from their adolescence throug
h careful considerations of personal growth, introspection, se
lf-forgiveness and self-work. over time, they have adapted to
new coping mechanisms and self-accountability for what they
've done in the past. constance has grown considerably but as
expected, they still struggle with trauma from their youth XX
VII. constance dabbled in various positions when she first star
ted out in the rebellion but for the past several years, she has
worked as an undercover agent in reconnaissance, information
extraction and espionage. she works alongside a group of trav
elling entertainers who perform at various conclave military f
orts. she typically engages with the fort's high-ranking person
nell in order to gain access to confidential military records an
communication files. constance's talents lie with singing & p
erforming; her stage name is dahlia but her code name is illa
ndaff. she uses fake names as well XXVIII. while constance is
n't on the front lines, the treatment she often receives at the
hands of conclave personnel is less than desirable. objectified
and talked down upon for her showy displays and looks - some

the start of the second american civil war, constance
will remain firm in their beliefs over maintaining pe
ace and caution in their fight against the overtly ag
gressive conclave. alongside her caravan crew she w
ill be an outspoken critic of rebels like declan water
s, and she will not hesitate to make her voice know
n in light of dangerous decisions and how they shoul
d handle them. unfortunately, her decisions regardin
g this stance will lead to some members of the cara
van crew such as young nick to leave them and join
the cause of rebels like declan waters. constance w
ill be devastated when nick is later murdered by inq
uisitors XXXII. despite the threat posed by inquisitor
s during the civil war, constance will bear no grudge
against androids as a whole, and will continue to ad
vocate for their rescue from the conclave governme
nt. she will be one of the few rebels to do so, as the
introduction of the black riders into the wasteland w
ill cause heavy paranoia, aggression and fear to spre
ad across not only the wasteland population but the
rebellion as a whole. unsurprisingly, this will not swa
y constance's morals regarding the creation and usag
e of androids. she knows what it feels like to be left
behind or treated as less than subhuman.

cule or unwanted advances by conclave personnel. sh
e can develop an alarming coldness towards those aro
und her as a defense mechanism and will say things s
he comes to later regret XXIX. used to smoke but has

policies. and while sera claims that she is not a polit
ical woman she has so far proven herself to be just a
s political, just as calculating and just as relentlessly
ambitious as some of the conclave's most ruthless se
nators. she is a self-made woman who is driven as m
uch by her need for success and her neuroses as by h
er strengths. and while she often says that she is mot
ivated by the vigor of others in her agency, sera very
much pours her own grievances and desires into her
occupation. she has not forgotten the griefs of her c
hildhood and her father's premature death, and such
events have no doubt influenced the way she perceiv
es the wasteland and those outside the conclave. her
views have caused tension in some of her personal r
elationships. for example, her younger brother absal
om rarely talks to her nowadays and shows a thinly v
eiled layer of disgust towards her outlooks in life. w
hether or not such disdain bothers sera is unknown.

her father's possessions since his death and often we

conformed to some of the expectations placed upon
her by the rest of society. she is a closeted lesbian,
afraid that her sexuality could potentially hinder o
r even destroy her career and reputation. some of
these thoughts can be attributed to her grandmoth
er; she is aware of sera's sexuality but insists that
it is just a phase and she must not 'act on her impu
lses' XXVI. sera easily comes across as apathetic d
ue to her introverted nature. she is not easy to talk
to unless you are friends with her but it is easy for
her to put up a farce in professional/public setting
s. she is good at hiding what she is feeling until she
isn't; many can contest that she has a bad temper
and capricious nature. she tends to act more affec
tionate/lenient towards those she is comfortable w
ith XXVII. unlike her late father, she is a blood pur
ist and does not see eye-to-eye with the wasteland
population. she is harsh and callous when it comes
to the conclave's jurisdiction over the united states
