name is unknown,
in summary "Isaac"
is the american
name his foster
family gave him
after he and nico
were rescued
from Chernobyl
but before that
the kids called
him "Lex" since
he was the
best fighter, after winning 6 rounds in a row "L E X" was spray painted on a wood post, they weren't exactly sure of it's exact meaning but it marked where he had won so many times so all of them just started calling him that.
Overview
Lex was raised in a small ungoverned and unknown lawless town within the outskirts of the radioactive city of Chernobyl where either the poorest of the poor, those who wanted to escape their debts or criminals went to since almost no one in Ukraine knows of it, in which only had abandoned buildings and remains of resources. He opened his eyes slowly and tiredly unsure of what he was hearing, he sat up and through the broken wall he saw a helicopter, it came with sounds of thunder, it was just like how he pictured it in that book he read, what the hell was it here for though? He wondered, Lex shook Nico, "Get up", he said looking back at the chopper, he ran up to the broken wall poking his head outside of it watching the things hover on a rooftop of a small store, made sense as it was the most stable landing spot from what Lex could see, but completely out of no where another one came, and yet another, he peered closer and saw a bunch of armed men in green camouflage suits pour outta them, being who he was shrugging his shoulders and simply walking to the cabinet where they stored the food and took out a couple slices of dried bread, he looked up seeing Nico was sticking to that broken wall like glue observing everything, Lex rolled his eyes taking a hard bite out of the bread then walking up to Nico handing him the slice looking out through the hole again, he saw the men have spread to the streets, one of them looked up straight at Lex and Nico, then pointed at them calling over at something, Lex quickly stepped back into the shadows cursing under his breath, Nico had asked what was wrong and Lex told him "I don't want to get involved with whatever all that is", Nico shaked his head slightly smirking until they both heard the door break open and 4 of those men rushing in looking around until they spotted the two, backed against the wall Lex wasn't about to fight someone with a gun, "What do you want?" he said bluntly, one of the men stepped forward and was speaking strangely slow "We are here to help you" he said, Lex frowned confused, "We're good thanks", but the man immediately shook his head, "No you have to get out of here we were ordered remove all civilians from this quarantined zone" Lex frowned once more, "These parts aren't radioac--" He got cut off by the other man from being yanked by the arm and dragged out the room, Lex kept squirming and trying to punch his way out of this one but soon enough he found himself being put on that helicopter, at least Nico was there for company, but he still couldn't believe what ever this was all happened so fast. Turns out they call the ones in green uniforms here "soldiers", one of them handed Lex a white bag with a plastic box of warm food, he looked down at it and opened it, it smelled insanely good but he gave an annoying sigh and looked at the soldier, "Great what do I have to do now?" The soldier turned around confused chuckling "What do you mean kid?", Lex frowned at him, "Do I have'ta spoon feed the words to you? What do I have to do to keep this?" he said seriously and stern as always, the soldier was laughing at him, "Nothing! It's all yours eat up!", Lex was getting frustrated with these guys putting the bag on the floor he said, "I'm not buying into that bull that's some sorta set up", the soldier's laughing slowly died seeing he wasn't joking, "Hey look, it's free, it's yours, no set up or nothin' I promise you-- And if it is then heck just tell me I'll clear it up" he said trying not to chuckle at his last statement, Lex was still frowning but ended up giving in, which he doesn't do often if at all but in this case picking the bag up and sat facing towards Nico as they shared the meal, he noticed Nico was awfully quiet, all the kids he knew were distant and quiet but Nico was the only person he could think of that get a little excited about this even though all Lex wanted to do is go about his day until whatever on earth all this was came over. They've been told the two along with the remainder of the towns civilians will be going to the United States which Lex remembers it was located somewhere in the middle of North America, after one of the soldiers explained everything and asked questions Lex overheard him talking the other, "We're almost at the airport, good thing is they speak english and don't have accents ! Isn't that somethin'?" he said as they both chuckled raising their brows, Lex rolled his eyes holding tight onto the belt as he felt the chopper lowering its self onto the ground. The two soldiers lead Lex and Nico to a small plane, it wasn't a jet, even though Lex wished it was, it was just oddly small, It probably belongs to the military he thought to himself, as they both walked up the steps and got in the plane, he saw others he knew from the town as well, which wasn't a good thing in their case, but with all these armed soldiers also in the plane it became almost too awkward, he quickly made his way through to the very back as Nic followed he then sat on one of the seats, they were surprisingly very comfortable, Nico scootched in by the window, "Why didn't you want the window seat?" he whispered, Lex was caught off guard as Nic never asked or said things like that, he shrugged his shoulders loosely, and mumbled back, "Maybe 'cause I don't care" he replied trying not to even glance at anyone else in the plane, Nico drew his eyes away from the window and looked around quickly then down at the box by his foot shaking his head looking out the window again, "If only they knew half of these people shoulda been left behind to rot" he said quietly, Lex nearly stiffened not looking at Nico as he whispered in his lowest voice, [removed] Nic only responded with a sigh as he put his legs up and lead on the window closing his eyes. Lex tried to relax he really did, but hell he hardly sleeps at night don't get him wrong he's a chill person but he just can't physically relax, so he just laid back in his seat, but soon enough he got back up and nudged Nico, he was passed out cold already, looking around he saw many others dead asleep, the only ones awake were the ones talking to each other or eating. Soon enough from the other seat Lex watched the sky go dark he felt like he's seen it go down twice though it almost felt like two days, Nic was slowly waking up but when he eventually did he had a puzzled look on his face "We're still here?" he mumbled getting up, Lex took a deep breath, "Yeah", Nico looked over at him for a seocnd then pushed himself up looking out the window, "The sky looks nice for once" he remarked, Lex ignored him and paid no attention to the sky, suddenly he heard a soldier walking down the plane, he sat up as the man hollered, "Fasten your seat belts prepare for landing" with those words Nico got up and held tight on his seatbelt, Lex frowned at him shaking his head,[removed] before he could finish he felt the air lift around him as the plane lowered itself harder than a damn rocket, but once it did the soldiers lead everyone out the plane but at the door one of the guards said something brief to each person walking out, Lex didn't figure out what it was till he and Nico made it to the door, "Don't talk to any of them just run as fast as you can forward, avoid eye contact" he rasped before shoving Lex and Nico out of the hatch, almost stumbling their eyes were beraded by flashing lights but they successfully and quickly made it to the car ahead. Leaping in the back and shutting the door watching the cameras turn as it drove off, The soldier looked at the four others in the car through the rearview mirror to make sure all he was ordered to carry were there, Lex noticed they're were only him, Nico, and two other kids, one of the kids awkwardly glanced a terrified look at Lex shuffling his hands, his teeth were jacked up because of one of the fights, Lex never wanted to fight the poor fella but if he didn't he'd get himself beat and deprived of the prize, yet he never felt guilty not even secretly mainly since he doesn't really know what guilt is, though the kid was clearly nervous Lex paid no attention to it, he distracted himself by talking with Nic. It was so quiet 2 hours had gone by and still no sound other than the memory of their short conversation they kept replaying in their heads, soon enough they started seeing the modern cities and colorful trees until they made it to a mid-sized building, the soldier parked the car and lead all of them in, a lady at the front desk with rimmed glasses and a bun grinned and said, "Who are these lovely children?", the soldier smiled back " A few of the kids from Chernobyl, I'm sure you saw the news earlier... well I'll leave you to it, you kids better respect Ms.June you hear?" he responded walking out the door as they watched Ms.June walked over to them, "Come this way" she said with enthusiasm walking them up the stairs to a hallway with small dorms, "Keep in mind other children live here!" she said cheerfully guided the other two kids, Lex known as Vladimir and Anton, then he and Nico were put in a dorm not too far from the other one, each of the dorms had two small beds (one on each side of the room), a shelf with some books, and a lamp. Nico immediately fell onto the bed almost hugging it out of relief, aside from Lex who simply grabbed a book and sat on his bed, opening it studying the illustrations to better understand what it was, he may have spoken fluently but he had trouble reading and writing, the only book he known of was out of the kindness from an old lady who read it to him, Nico got up to pull the blanket over himself until from across the small room he saw Lex observing the book, he was surprised that he cared at all, not that he thinks Lex is completely apathetic and shows care for nothing its just the guy shows it in small, brief ways, heck he wouldn't have been saved from that fight if it weren't true. In the morning they both awoken to the stumbling of footsteps in the hallway, Ms.June intrudingly opened their door room hollering, "It's time for school get ready and be downstairs!", both Lex and Nico were puzzled, they saw two sets of clothes on the shelf, and decided to just roll with it, even though both of them were kinda stressed out that all this has happened faster than the blink of an eye and haven't even been given the chance to adapt to the new timezones, Lex already woke up twice in the night per usual due to his chronic nightmares so he's used to getting up early in any random time of the day or night but Nico was very tired, as much as they both hated it Lex got ready heaved Nic up, "C'mon buddy get up", tripping everywhere Nico finally wore his new clothes, they could agree all this new stuff was pretty cool and comfortable. Walking out last and running downstairs they all got on the bus that had been waiting outside, Ms.June was riding with them, scootching into the booth the two were in, whispering very quietly while trying to pay no attention, "No matter what happens or what you do, do not under any circumstance say or imply were you used to live or were from, remember if the occasion does arise tell them you moved here from New York and your names are now Issac and Adrian " and with that she got up and left to the back of the bus where it had stopped in the front of the school, "Goodbye children!" she shouted with a now questionable excitement, as Lex and Nico stepped off the bus, they both looked at eachother kind of shook, "The hell with that I'm not gonna talk to anyone here anyway and I'm keeping my damn name" Lex grunted, tense with his hands in the pockets of his jacket Nico nudged him with palpable fear, "No you can't do that I think it's assigned in their charts or something" he said a little scared, Lex has never seen him act this way, he slightly frowned "Don't worry you'll be fine" he responded with an almost unheard of sympathy, they both walked around the school for a while until a supervisor stopped them, "What are you two still doing out here? The bell already rang!" She said becoming suspicious, Lex slightly raised his brows, "And?", the supervisor frowned at him, "AND you should be in class!" Nico looked over at Lex then back at teh supervisor, "We don't know where it is" the supervisor squinted her eyes "Please, well we're all going to find out soon come with me" she said frustrated as they both followed her to the front office once they got there, the lady by the computer searched their names and printed their schedules "There you are" she said handing them to Lex and Nico, Nico was eager to compare them and see if they had any classes together, "What are you doing?" Lex asked, "English...math...P.E...that's it I guess, oh yeah I'm just seeing what classes we had together" he responded, Lex rolled his eyes "That's sweet honey" he said so sarcastically, Nic almost chuckled. Finally making it to their first class, which was english, "And this is where you would usually use 'E' after--" the teacher was cut off by Lex and Nico's enterance through the door, the teacher sighed and aimed her hand towards them then slamped it back down, "Everyone I'd like to welcome two new additions to the classroom..." Lex and Nic looked at eachother confused why she didn't finish her sentence, "Well do you have names?", "Oh yeah I'm N--" Lex cut him off and nudged him "Isaac and Adrian" remembering they had to use their fake names, it was pretty ironic since Nico was most concerned about keeping that up, "Welcome to our class take a seat at any of the empty desks" she responded with a rather low energy as she resumed her teaching, Lex sat down at the desk in the very back while Nico took a seat in the middle row near the front, they were both given a notebooks and some generic school supplies, Lex kept the pencils and pens then threw the rest out, Nico kept the whole thing even the case. At the end of the day Nico pulled his blanket over himself, as all the lights went out, he turned over and looked at Lex, "What do you think about it?" he asked, Lex turned over, "About what?" he frowned puzzled, "You know, the school thing, or those guys bringing us here in the first place" he said not breaking his gaze, Lex shrugged turning onto his back staring at the ceiling, "I don't know, well to me this school thing is pretty much useless and I can't agree on how they brought us here but it sure is a lot better than where we were..." Lex suddenly rolled his eyes then turned over again facing the walls, "whatever goodnight" he said closing his eyes silently knowing the one thing he couldn't escape were the nightmares that would only wake him once again, after a few hours they soon enough did, feeling the sweat on his forehead, feeling himself breathe heavy he closed his eyes, took a deep breath and tried to get himself to sleep again, only this time he found himself watching the sun rise again, then as usual he tiredly got up and got dressed [removed]
