Kamaliah, I drew a picture for my form, but I can't see the one I'm trying for's facial markings that clearly. Would it be possible for you to give a description of Barbaro's facial markings?

Oh, dang, I've missed a lot!

Okay, I have a question. During the siv, if there is a particularly attractive male in a herd, will the females throw themselves over him, or is it he who tries to get their attention? {Sorry if this doesn't make sense XDD}

They way I had it in my head when I wrote all of the Siv stuff, the more attractive a male is, the least likely she will fight him. The males not only have to beat the other males, they have to conquer their chosen ewe/doe- which is why Cass/Celestina does not mate until she's ready to, and only with Hatter. She chooses not to, and fights her suitors away.

Edit: Ugh, I'm so pathetically weak:
(One page long, just for you guys. <3)

Goennec Pen #: 3
Name: Secretariat
How would you use him/her: He would join my growing herd, a guard to join Rannoch and Aussie in the defense of the others in the herd. He will be Cass’s confidant, though he will not know what exactly she is up to when she sneaks off. He will have the job of espionage for Lazuli’s brother, entrusted with the task of finding movement in his own herd as well as others. He does his job well, though he dutifully glosses over the innocent acts, such as Cass’s excursions and Rannoch’s secret feelings toward Lazuli. It may be his job to know secrets, but he feels that it isn’t his job to make them public.

Define your Goennec:

I am the ram that isn’t there.

How odd. But it’s true; I have the ability to disappear, to become little more than a ghost, wandering the herd like a lost spirit. I become energy- energy becomes me. I am indispensible when I am nothing at all. I can change the emotions of others, though only slightly. Anger becomes passion, and jealousy becomes lust with the silent clop of a single hoof. The Primes have, on more than one occasion, sent me to other herds to silently stop a war before it has begun. I am known as The Unknown.

I am little more than nothing when I am physically present. I’m nothing too special. I am a soldier that does as he’s told when he’s told to do it. I am a faceless guardian that charges alongside the Prince and comforts an otherwise elusive ewe when she has troubles. There is nothing that marks me as anything but normal. I am the unknown.

That is, until I am, once more, a whisper in the wind.

---
Secretariat is invisible in the two worlds he walks in. In his “Unknown” form, he is physically invisible, or, as he terms it, “nothing.” He has the ability to bend the energy that is emotion in sleeping Goennecs while in this form, though he cannot turn negative energy into positive. In his physical body, he is nothing in the social spectrum. A literal nobody, whose actions and bravery in combat are credited to his leader, the Prince, and whose history is known only to him.
Secretariat’s life wish is to be “something”. He desires to be known as something more than the unknown or The Unknown. The only one that really knows who he is in his physical form is the “elusive ewe” he speaks of- Celestina/Cassiopoeia. In his Unknown form, he is but a legend, told to scare young kids and secretly feared by rebellious Goennecs in nearby herds.

WIP, obviously ^3^

Image

Goennec Pen #:
8

Name:
Alithea (al-LI-see-ah), "Summer Blizzard"

How would you use him/her:
Roleplay, definitely poetry, art (though I fail as an artist) and stories. Maybe.

Define your Goennec:
Alithea.

Ali-thea. Summer blizzard.

Such a strange name for a Goennec with a coat of smooth chocolate brown, a mane of dark, dark brown and four small paws dipped in the same dark hue, no white on her whatsoever. That was the first thought that came to everyone's minds when they heard of the name my mother gave me.

Perhaps she had forseen this. Perhaps it was an impulse.

Or, perhaps, it had been my name that had given me this curse in the first place.

Then again, is this really a curse? Or is this a blessing? Truth to be told, I really don't know. However, what I do know is that my life would've turned out completely different if I wasn't like this, if I hadn't done that and, in turn, met Noelin and his sister.

And for that, I am glad.

... maybe this isn't so bad, after all...

~*~

Laboured breaths eased in and out, in and out of her small chest as dark brown paws pushed off against the ground, scrambling for purchase on the sandy terrain. She had to get away, she had to, she had to, she couldn't be caught...

And then, the weight of lead suddenly pushed upon her small body, causing her to collapse onto the ground with a sharp gasp of surprise, her small paws instinctively flying through the air as she tried to grasp onto something, anything in order to hold on to.

With a small grin, her captor leapt off and pranced around, his tail whizzing through the cold morning air as his mostly-pawed feet gounged deep within the dew-dipped sands. "Got you again!" he crowed, laughter evident within his bright eyes.

Scoffing, Ali got up, shaking the insistent droplets of dew that stubbornly clung onto her soft chocolate pelt. "It's no fair!" the young Goennec complained, teasingly butting her brother with her small head. "You're one year older than me."

"That's no excuse~" Rylio laughed, lightly swishing her side with his thick muscular tail. Ali growled playfully and lightly nipped his shoulder, earning her a mock gasp of surprise from her brother.

"How dare you do that to the herd's next prime!" he abolished, imitating the stern face of his father. Letting out a loud giggle, Ali spun around and ran off in the direction of the forest, kicking up the dew-licked sands whose moisture was rapidly getting sucked up by the hot, blazing sun which had just recently rose over the horizon. Eyeing the barely-visible savannah, she took off in that direction, her delicate paws leaving dark gounges in the soft desert sand.

"Catch me if you can!"

And the chase was on.

~*~

Loei bi-ka, lei da biloe nei,
Bliae nae, iloe oen-ka ileo berei;
Oe-ka iroe-eo-lio ileo-ki,
Noie bi-ka iori

I'll be your anchor, just hold and don't let go,
Whatever happens, we'll always be together;
Don't mind the shine of the stars or the shine of the moon,
Because I'm all you need.

I remember that lullaby my mother always sang. How can I not? It was the first thing I heard when I came into this world, the only thing that kept me from panicing and trying to seek the warmth of my mother's womb...

The last gift my mother gave me before she passed away.

I remember singing it to myself--or, rather, half singing, half gasping--after my mother's tragic death one month after I came into this world. No one knew the cause of it, no one knew what made her wander away from the main herd at that specific time.

Still, pondering on the specifics wouldn't do me much good now.

My mother is dead, and there is nothing, nothing I could do about it.

~*~

Silence passed between the two siblings as they sat at their mother's grave, the rest of the herd a respectful distance away from the mourning children of Talio.

If they could've weapt, they would've but, alas, Alithea and Rylio were only Goennecs. They didn't possess the same tear glands as humans did.

And so, because of that, the siblings just settled for screaming their anguish into the desert sands.

Why, mother? Why must you leave?

Why must you leave Rylio?

Why must you leave daddy?

Why must you leave me?

~*~

The first sign of white appeared about a month after my mother's death.

Horns. Small, barely noticeable horns that were but mere buds at that time in my life. However, they stood out sharply against my dark mane, contrasing with the thick, spiky strands that had now turned black.

Everyone else in my herd had no signs of white on them whatsoever. None. For it was unacceptable for anyone to possess this cursed colour, the colour of the desert Goennec herd's biggest fear.

White. The colour of purity, the colour of innocence, the colour of beauty.

The colour of snow.

The colour...

... of death.

~*~

"Alithea."

"Hm?"
the small brown Goennec raised her elegant head at the sound of her brother's voice, her dark green eyes blinking in surprise at his intrusion. The doe's frame was more full, more supple, more like an adult Goennec than a baby Goennec's at this point in time. However, it was still obvious that she hadn't reached physical maturity yet.

Usually, others only used her full name when they had something of utmost importance to say to her. Ali was easier on the tongue, after all. Sure enough, when she spotted her brother's face, his expression seemed... dark.

What happened? Rylio was spunky, and energetic, rarely seriously. For the first time in days, Alithea displayed an emotion other than sorrow--a slight hint of concern flitted over her dark masked face.

"Your horns."

"... what about them?"
the small Goennec asked curiously. Of course she knew that she was budding; how could she not, when she winced in pain everytime the hyper-sensetive skin near her ears came in contact with something? The only unusual thing about it was that she was budding late; usually, others in her herd began growing their horns at the age of three months.

She was more than four months late, but she still didn't see why it would be a cause for that much concern.

Expression slightly hardening, Rylio anxiously scratched at the ground with his one hoof. "White, Ali. They're white."

White? Really? Where had that came from? A slight expression of surprise crossed over the small Goennec's features before they returned to the impassive look she usually wore nowdays after her mother's death. "Oh," was all she said as her dark green eyes flitted towards the ground. White, huh. Now that was... really really weird. Her mother didn't have a single speck of white on her, her father, the herd's prime, didn't have any white on him either, and Rylio, like them, didn't appear any brighter. So where had this came from?

She still didn't get her brother's serious expression, though. It was just white, right? Nothing that they should fear. Just another colour that appeared on her.

"Ali... be careful, alright?" Rylio's concerned voice jolted her out of her thoughts, causing her to glance at him questioningly, confusion clear in her dark green eyes.

"I will." She wasn't really a nosy Goennec, so after replying the doe just shrugged and bent down, her brother's warning soon forgotten.

~*~

Loei bi-ka, lei da biloe nei,
Bliae nae, iloe oen-ka ileo berei;
Oe-ka iroe-eo-lio ileo-ki,
Noie bi-ka iori

Innocence never lasts forever.

Just as every dark cloud has a silver lining, every silver cloud, in turn, has a dark lining, one that is just waiting to be exposed.

You may forgive, but you can never forget.

In my young naive mind, I had thought that my time of peace, my time of play, would last forever, untainted by betrayel and sadness and anger.

As you all probably know, I was wrong.

After mother's death, I realized that I have no control over... well, anything. Anything at all.

Still, deep within the recesses of my mind, I'd still thought that I had been punished enough and that the fates would find another playmate, someone else to torture other than me.

Of course, I was wrong again.

~*~

She refused to believe her ears.

"What?" the small doe, one that was barely eight months old, asked in surprise, her dark green eyes wide as she stared at her best friend.

"... he's dead," Kalieon choked out, her voice shaky. Eyes still wide in shock, she watched helplessly as the beautiful silver doe, almost nearing her second year, broke down in front of her over the loss of her newborn brother.

"Kalieon... Kalieon... calm down, please," Alithea begged, her dark claws scratching against the desert sands as she tried to console her best friend. This came as a shock to everyone in the herd; there hadn't been a stillbirth in years. So why now, of all times? And why to Kalieon, who hadn't done anything in order to deserve this?

"I... why must it happen to him?" The silver doe asked sadly, her ivory claws digging into the soft sand. "He's just a newborn kid, he's done nothing wrong... why him? Why now?" she parroted the questions going through Alithea--and, undoubtfully--everyone else's heads, too.

Letting out a soft sigh, Alithea replied, "He's dead now, Kali. There's nothing you can do about it. Please stop hurting yourself over this."

A few tense moments of silence passed between them before Alithea spoke once again. "The most you can do is live, right? Live on, for his sake."

If she'd known of what will happen later in her life, Alithea would've immediately taken those words back.

Or, better yet, never spoken them at all.

~*~

The second sign of white appeared a month after Kalieon's unnamed brother's death.

At first, it was but a mere whisp in my dark black mane, one lone bright strand amongst hundreds of thousands of dark hues. However, as time passed, the white became more prominent, sticking out against my back like a beacon, warning others that death had ravanged this herd.

At that time, of course, I was totally unaware of what the white meant; Rylio still chose to not explain it to me. I was unaware of their connection to the deaths that chose to plague the herd.

Though I do remember wondering to myself why there was no hint of white in a herd that lived on the desert sands.

"No." That was the first response that came to Alithea's mind when her brother told her the horrible news, her dark green eyes wide in shock.

Rylio's own eyes were sad as he pawed at the desert grounds with his one hoof, as if afraid of looking up and seeing his sister's horrified expression. "I'm sorry," was all he said, his voice tight as if he was forcing out his words. Alithea didn't blame him.

Their sister. Gone.

Dead.

Killed.

Three days after Alithea's first birthday, too.

A time of celebration, a time of joy, immediately turned sour by a sister that she barely knew.

"How did she die?" Alithea's voice was weak as her small body collapsed onto the sandy ground, a slight bit of denial evident in her low voice.

At that, her brother's expression darkened even more. She felt her world spin out of control at his quiet answer.

"... nobody knows."

~*~

*Don't think that I just threw a few words that sounded good together in order to make the language, I actually have grammar rules for it and specified words for specified things and everything xD

**The first sign of white are her white horns.

***The second sign of white is that little slip of white on her back there, right before that huge swath of white on her tail. And that little smidgen before it too.

his are pretty simple =3 three whisker-like, black streaks on each cheek. The middle on being longer than the one by the eye, and the lowest one curling downward.
Three successively smaller, black spots running up his muzzle from his nose

Most females will just wait to be chosen, but some decide their own mates for the season. An attractive male will sometimes get a few females that chose to be in his harem, but mostly females chose the best fighters, hence the fighting for females X3

XD well, yeah, they can be picky and decide not to accept a male, but that's getting into the long, complicated explanition and I'm to lazy to write that all out right now XD
