okay, first of lemme just say again we don't celebrate normal holidays. another example is the fact that we all know what we're getting. and i know im getting a graphics tablet. whoo! so im gonna use my graphics tablet to make an animation movie about luke and cupi being dorks. gonna use where no one goes from httyd for it, too. i will put it here when it's done. but im gonna have to use oekaki cause i stink at any other art program. XD

The toymaker was not a loud man. He spoke very few words, only mumbling a price or a comment on a sold item. His grey eyes were always downcast, seeming blank and dead. Even so, his shelves were always lined with intricate, delicate playthings; marble figurines, string puppets, wooden animals, knitted dolls. The tiny stand on the corner attracted children of all ages, eyes lit up as they carefully handled one of the crafts, offering a coin for this, a bill for that, heedless of the foreign man's haggard looks. It was a relatively quiet but still profitable business, each individual item finding a home in the hands of an awestruck youngster. After hours, at midnight, one couldn't find the toymaker at his stand. In fact, he would always sit a distance away, on a bridge overlooking the canal of his hometown. In his hands he would clutch a small item, a toy, staring into its eyes with a life none of his clients had ever seen. He would whisper something mysterious, almost ominous, running his hands over the little creature's eyes, asking for a presence. Most times, nothing would happen. One could call him mad, all the times he performed this ritual and failed. But if the toymaker was lucky, the carefully painted eyes would blink open, alive. Spirit got her chance - even though her previous incarnation had died long, long ago, she was brought back once more in the hands of her maker, given a new opportunity to live as the guardian of a child in the form of a tiny wooden horse puppet, one that lived off of companionship, comfort, and warmth. Her maker had seen something special about her, though; she was more than a living toy. She was a Maker herself. After giving life to a gang of various toys now known as the Band, Spirit thought herself satisfied and sustainable. However, unlike Makers, regular spirits can only survive so long in their half-living bodies. Eventually, they must be sent back to their realm for judgement, to be given a real life, a human life. The Band's time is running out, as is Spirit's. The little Maker has a job to do. ｍａｋｅｒ Maker is set to be an ongoing comic that will likely take years to complete, focused on the struggles and trials of Spirit, a mute horse puppet with a special skill. Currently Maker is not in action, and is scheduled to go on trial in two weeks' time. Releases will occur every two weeks for 10 pages and, if interest is established, it will continue indefinitely (until I can no longer continue, or until the story wraps up). Until then, feel free to leave feedback and support, and perhaps donate a character to be used in the story. ｕｐｄａｔｅｓ 11/29/15 - Full synopsis released 11/11/15 - Cover posted ｐａｇｅｓ None released currently, stay tuned! ｍｏｒｅ ｏｎ ｔｈｅ ｔｏｙｓ Each living toy featured in this tale is an incarnation of a deceased human being who was given another chance in life. They each have their own quirks, but generally are able to move around as living animals are. Obviously they do not show their lifelike tendencies around humans, appearing to be the same lifeless playthings they're assumed to be. However, each toy has one thing to maintain until their judgement day - their Life Force. A Life Force is almost like food to the toys - without it they soon perish, cease to exist. It can be one of many things, but is never material. Spirit's is affection - she must receive it regularly in order to function normally. Others include adventure, intellectual stimulation, risk, even relaxation. It is unknown how long a toy can survive without their Life Force, but they are known to become progressively weaker and more sickly as time goes on without it. Obviously, living as a toy is a test to see if a spirit is really worth a second chance. After living for seven full moons as a toy, they very suddenly 'die' - or so you think. In reality, they are being judged, and, if they have proven themselves, incarnated into a new human body. The new human has very little memory of its past life, but a toy remembers its most recent life very vividly. Gender and orientation ranges widely in the toys, but generally follows that of their previous incarnation. Toys almost never harm each other unless their life force dictates them to do so, and they never, ever harm a human being. ｃｈａｒａｃｔｅｒ ｓｕｂｍｉｓｓｉｏｎｓ Maker needs your characters! We are currently taking 3 more characters. The criteria is as follows: 1. MUST be a toy of some sort 2. No larger than 6 inches tall and 12 inches long 3. Life force must be non-material 4. Cannot be another Maker 5. Must follow all characteristics stated above concerning toys 6. No two Life Forces may be the same Keep in mind when submitting a character that you will not have any control over its actions once it is taken into the story. You will be credited for your character design. Not all characters will be accepted, but you may apply with as many as you wish. Please use the form below to submit on this topic; you may add on as many fields as you wish, this is a base.

"you will see your beauty every moment that you rise" i got a rEALLY cute idea for a Christmas gift for my real life friend last night [i used her online nickname on the image, though] so i decided, well, i better get started on that idea

Well, Criminal weirdos to be exact
In order ( Top to bottom, Left to right ) Plateau : Scottie : Matthews : Max : Corporal A quick scan through gives you some barely useful info on each of them Plateau He's somewhat listless. And is able to see in spite of wearing a bandanna over his eyes Scottie They seem more aggressive, but are alot more lazy. They wear a scarf. Matthews He's sharpening a peice of broken glass. He gives off an unstable aura. Max His eyes are strange, and he seems to be ignoring you. He's talking with Corporal. Corporal Her eyes are dull and artificial looking. She looks to be upset about something. So yeah. You can ask them stuff. |
