Welcome to the catnips nursery, where all the baby catnips, or kitnips, are born! When an artist posts that their slots are open, you may request a batch, so long as you follow the rules below.

Guidelines
→ Kitnips come in batches of 1-4, which is rolled for accordingly by the random number generator. You may post a form ONLY when an artist posts saying they’re open to do batches. Currently, the only artists able to do so are: bluebird.

→ All kits are a mix of the parents’ colors and patterns. Additionally, artists know and follow the breeding guidelines/rolling (PM me if you’ve forgotten)

→ Catnips may only breed twice in a lifetime at the moment. They may only breed after a 3 week cooldown, and you must own your catnip for at least two weeks before breeding them. Additionally, you may only request a batch every two weeks (2 weeks after an artist posts saying your ticket has been accepted.

→ You may not contact an artist asking for a slot, or otherwise. This is completely against the rules and you’ll get a strike- or banned, depending on the situation. Artists, please contact me if this happens to you.

→ Catnips may be in as many relationships, with any gender, or number of kalons as you’d like. They may be polyamorous, but at this time only up to three catnips may be bred at once.

→ You may switch nursery artists after three weeks if your batch hasn’t been made. Please provide proof of your ticket being accepted, and that the artist is allowing you to do so.

→ Kitnips may not breed win or be in relationships with adult Catnips. Additionally, they must be grown for at least one week to be bred. Also, cross-family relationships aren’t allowed.

→ Add any breeding items and their uses to the bottom of your ticket before posting, and add proof of your ownership of them. Please note you may not request certain designs/edits from an artist in your batch.

Kieikis are aquatic omnivorous creatures, though their diet tends to rely mostly on fish, clams, oysters, and other marine life. Their favorite food though, by far, has become the pieces of chicken that people will throw to them, much like bread to ducks. Similarly, like ducks with bread, chicken is not quite good for them and is a lot like candy. Eating too much chicken, or duck, will cause your kieiki to be incredibly chunky!
Kieikis sizes vary slightly depending on conditions, though tend to stand (From paws to the tops of their heads) 3 feet tall, and are 6 feet long. Their arms and legs have become small and virtually useless in the water, their movement reliant on their long and graceful bodies. Their front paws however have evolved to be able to grip and pry apart their food, such as oysters and clams, their other prey such as fish are caught through their amazingly quick movements. While Kieikis do have the ability to travel onto land, they do not have the ability to live there happily and healthily, forever. In order to be kept as pets, they must mostly live within the water, only leaving to play for a few minutes or to sunbathe; be careful not to let them dry out!
Kieikis can be active at both day and night, depending on the kieiki's personal preferences, habits,
and conditions. All Kieikis, regardless of conditions or habits, are covered in hard crystal like spikes,
for their protection. They are quite colorful and flashy, frequently attracting predators, their spikes act as a defense as such. Their bodies are also covered frequently in aquatic flowers, patches of scales,
and their slightly see through tails are hosts to other living things. Within their bioluminescent tails,
will frequently live other marine life, though it is unknown if those fish are for storage during food shortages or for companionship.
Kieikis tend to live in large groups or pods, up to about 30 Kieikis have been spotted swimming and living together. Without a pod or group, Kieikis have been known to become very depressed and sluggish. Their days are mostly spent lying around and wiggling or shifting so that their crystal spines catch the sunlight, in an attempt to signal to other Kieikis.
