Range Trotter #4746 from Adopts 2: Pets, based on this drawing by HowlingHooves
by Taxidea @ Thu May 09, 2024 11:08 am [Reply]

Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Hmm... This Trotter looks like they almost have a map of some islands as markings.
Where does their map lead? Treasure? A hidden oasis? The fountain of youth?

Based off a dog at my sibling's work, with the obvious rainbow addition. He has really cool markings, like a dalmatian with the beagle saddle, and he's so cute I wanted to pet him so bad when I saw him yesterday
Unlike the others this one is just free fcfs, post to claim. Owned by M4NGL3D.
Once adopted I'd really appreciate it if you didn't sell/trade them for at least a month, please! After that feel free! You're free to redesign and stuff though!

I often find it hard to identify and describe my emotions but somehow imagening my OCs feeling the same way makes it easier, so here's Ray with some white clover, petunia, jonquil and heath. I've been imagening her skipping on the grass, climbing the trees and picking the flowers every time I've gone outside for the past few days because she's basically my emotional support ghost (it tracks because Ophelia was originally a self insert and Ray is their emotional support ghost too lol)

Cat Name: velvetshade
Gender: female
Rank: warrior
Clan: hazeclan
Age: 3 years
Prompt:

what velvetshade wants is to be content with herself. she's always battled against the stares she receives from other cats, the pity cast upon her due to her injuries, and deep down she aches to prove her strength. she encourages her way onto patrols, eager to prove herself and be admired by her clanmates as a strong and worthy warrior.

her ideal retirement would be something that happens only when she's ready. when she feels her time has come to rest, she'll forego her warrior duties and settle into a comfortable life as an elder, entertaining eager kits and apprentices with tales of her glory days and teaching them how to fight just as she did. she regales them with stories of how she got her injuries, and how she didn't let any other cat take her less seriously because of them.

mark!

Stuck in something of my own making. :')
Yet still standing, despite all the odds.
So, don't worry! Even if I break from time to time, I'm pretty resilient ehaheaheahhae

If I may ask something regarding my "sketch shop", what would you prefer:
a) sketch "shop" reopening for a brief period of time (after I catch up) + closing consistently (Tue, Thur)?
b) sketch "shop" having its last run, closing; after some time (july) = an art request "shop" opening (sketches / coloured pieces like above + other; would only close on hiatus; still free)?

Yeah okay I like this marking but also...cannot resist making a [somewhat] true clown triggerfish trotter. Important note: I do not like clowns, but this fish is okay.

This trotter has been keeping themself in decent shape during their time of piratical capture by responding to everything with a fishy pun. To win this trotter, tell me your favorite fishy pun of theirs!

We made it folks - sveldala #1000! After seven years of loving this species and slowly building it up to the awesome community we have today, I'm just so thrilled to get to this amazing achievement <3

As is tradition, this milestone adopt will be a custom raffle - but this time, you all get to go HARD on the edits, with ZERO limitations. Seriously, go absolutely crazy. Add wings, add companions, add full tack sets, add insanely complicated mane/tail edits, change their whole body shape, give them a billion horns and spikes, mountains of fluff, add prosthetics or robotics, truly whatever your little heart desires.

Markings still need to be common/uncommon/rare tiers, no seasonals/limiteds, but beyond that the sky is really the limit for their design. Please include homo/hetero for markings that change depending on dominance, such as black agama Agag vs red agama AgAg - otherwise, it will be artist's choice. If you would like or would not like a marking to be affected by interacting genes, such as turning hyena cream on double cream bases, include this in 'additional notes' as well.

Be sure that any images you use to depict your desired edits or markings are credited properly and CS appropriate, and of course make sure that this design is completely unique (no character theft please). If you need any assistance building your custom then please hop onto our discord and pop your questions into the ask-the-staff channel, we would be more than happy to help.

The winner will be randomly chosen via raffle, and as long as enough people with valid forms apply, we will have a few runner-ups awarded simplified versions of their custom designs as well!
