Due to some complications today with my chickens, we didn't make it to the store. So I was left to use what we had on hand to make my cake :3. It's extremely simple, but that wasn't too bad. I wanted to make a simple cake in the first place, I just didn't get any letter candles as I wanted. This is a red velvet cake with strawberry icing. I'd never made red velvet cake before - the batter is VERY very red. At first I thought I messed it up XD. The letters and pattern were applied with a toothpick and food coloring. My cake is pretty ugly, yes. But it sure did taste good :D.
