Story: Crew was born of one of the 4 ancient wolf tribes. Each tribe was said to be able to control or speak to certain things.
List of the ancient tribes:
Loquentis tribe - Are able to speak to other species of animals (not including humans or water animals). They're jobs are to keep peace between species; they act somewhat like police.
Elementis tribe - Have slight control over the elements. They can influence weather, build up small rock formations, control fire(however, cannot create fire, can just control existing flames), and bring water to the surface from underground. This tribe works as guardians, protecting whatever area they live in.
Medius Tribe: Can speak to and understand humans. They serve as mediators for their species. Some tribe members work alongside the human race in a symbiotic relationship.
Susurro tribe: Sometimes called whisperers, these wolves are able to travel through certain mediums as things like gases, noise, and light. They are the messengers of the wolf world. Sussurrians and Medians commonly work together to leave messages for the humans.
However, because the current tribes were said to be polluted by bad blood, some of the powers have changed or been limited. The "bad blood" is focusing on the fact that some wolves have bred with others of the canine family like coyotes, dingos, and foxes, thus making the wolf line impure.
For example, because Cruore was born of the Susurro tribe, is part coyote, and like most Sussurrians she is able to manipulate her shape into certain things. Instead of being able to change into things like gases, noise, and light, her abilities are to change into gases and ink. When she is in ink form he travels through the pages of books, through photos, and through anything that is parchment-like. She is able to leave messages on untouched pages or parchments. The danger comes when a book that she is in is closed, then she is trapped until it is opened again. While trapped he does not age, but is left with a ink blot marking on her body.
