(Tech- Hounds)
Techounds are a new breakthrough in artificial life- though they may seem to be actual animals, their insides are entriley circuitry and wires. They were created as a means to care for the ever-dieing human race; during the years after 2100, the Earth has begun to rot.
Huge sinkholes and acid rain become more frequent, and the remaining humans are herded into a supposedly safe utopia known as "Haven". A very simply name, though it's meaning supports what the entire city really is.
Techounds seem to have a comic appearance; no snout, a long neck, and the build of a cheetah. Though within them are magnetic plates that suspend an artificial snout so they appear more menacing and bladed wings to push off any threats that may near their utopia. They sport large eyes and a laser-whip tail, as well as markings that can be as simple as a few stripes, to as complex as a circuit board- though you usually see no spots or swirlps upon them.
They have two toes on each foot, and additional raptor-like claws that are suspended on either hind foot. Their toes are that of a cat's, having retractable claws.
They range in size and appearance as follows:
Defense Team: The size of an average man at the shoulder. Tend to be thicker and more burly, as well has having a stockier neck. Their artificial snouts are short and wide, and their bladed wings are very small and unoperational. Have one laser-whip tail.
Stealth Team: Size of a greyhound. Slightly longer necks, and a thinner build for navigating anything suspected of crime within the utopia, as well as infiltrating other less productive havens for supplies. Are the only Techounds capable of flight, being as they have wings the right size in comparison to body length and size. Artificial snouts are thinner and more narrow that any other Techound's. Have two laser-whip tails.
Assault Team: Appears as the Techound shown above. About the size of a panther, or large cat. Though this one lacks a bulge where a snout would be, most others have longer heads and have a little more of a snout. Artificial snouts are mid-length, usually with a long blade beneath the chin and sharper edges. Have three laser-whip tails.
They are usually quite peaceful and don't attack unless provoked, though some are known to disobey their programming and become feral. They are not immune to shorting-out or exposure to water.
The design and shape of each Techound's muzzle may vary, though they tend to appear the same within each group. They roam the utopia in teams of three to four, though the defense team usually only needs about two per area.
