Sparkle was a regular pink/purple Gryphon. One day she fell into the Moon Puddle and now her pelt is stained with permanent moonlight. Before the day ends she flys infront of the moon and gives it its light before nightfall. And that is how the moon shines and how Sparkle got her markings.
