"Mother?" A sweet voice calls up to the queen of the pack. "Why is that bird bowing down to me?"

"Because," the gentle voice of the mother replies, "You are royal."

"What's royal?" The pup asks curiously.

"Honey, royal means you are of high ranking" the mother responds calmly, dismissing the bird with a swish of her tail.

Honey sighed. "Can I go play with my friends?" she asked hopefully. She looked up to see her mother shaking her head, and furrowed her eyes with frustration. "Please?!" she begged.

"You have to practice being a lady first" Mother said, tilting her head to the side. She looked up as her mate, Steel, approached.

"Heather" Steel said in a gentle voice as he nudged his mate's cheek. "I have sent the dawn patrol out." he woofed.

"Alright" Heather replied, getting up.

Honey sighed loudly, showing her impatience. She padded over to her father. "Can I play now?" she asked, knowing her father would say yes. When he nodded, Honey jumped up and down excitedly.

"Steel" Heather scolded. "She has to train to become a proper lady first." shesaid, her eyes growing soft as she gazed at Steel.

"Heather, you need to relax. Let Honey go and play with her friends, and we will go on a hunt." He replied warmly, licking her cheek.

Honey's face fell when her mother had mentioned training again, but when Steel persuaded his mother to let Honey play, she raced away to have some fun, not giving her mother a chance to change her mind. She approached her friends, who werealready playing with eachother. Her closest friend, a pale grey she pup with soft, sky blue eyes, came over and bowed down. Honey swatted a paw at her. "Cut that out!" she yapped. "I get enough of that from training." she complained.

"Oh fine" her friend said, returning to standing tall. She grinned and got in a play bow, yapping at Honey.

"Cinder, I"m gonna get you!" Honey yapped, leaping forward and nipping at her ears playfully. She felt another body ram into her, and she loke dover to see it was Jade, a dark grey pup with peircing green eyes. "Watch it!" Honey giggled, blushing slightly.

Jade smirked and said, "As you wish, your higness."

Honey swatted at him , but he ducked and pushed her over. He stood over her and smirked."Gotcha/'!" he yapped, not noticing that Cinder was coming up behind him.

Cinder leaped onto his back and pulled him down.
