Mati is one of the main characters in one of my stories, which doesn't have a name. The other main is his sister Miri. They are the reincarnations/hosts (the term used in the story is Vessel) of the spirits of Yin and Yang.
I am one of those people who loves stupid stereotypes, but also enjoys breaking them. I sometimes make characters (such as one of my main villains Kestrel, who I made intending to make an evil white wolf) just to break them, and this was the case with Mati and Miri.
Mati, unsurprisingly, is Yang, but he is a excitable, immature, friendly and kind cat, instead of cold and standoffish as the actual spirit is. Despite being born before Miri, he acts and is treated much like the younger sibling, and is considerably weaker than Miri, who possess incredible strength when angry. He is very loyal, but doesn't like to fight, and is often tormented by the dreams the spirit Yang gives him. He never lets it show when he is offended and is known to be too trusting.
I prefer Mati over Miri. XD And yes, they're from the same story as Insanity, Vanity and Pain. That crazy alternate world.
"Your brother reminds me of a beaver who's just discovered an empty woodland." Sleet to Miri about Mati, somewhere in the story.
