In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The 11th of November is Rememberance Day for us Canadians, and I know that this time of year is equally special though with different names in other countries. In Flanders Fields is quite a famous war poem, and this picture is sort of my interpretation of at least the first verse. I think this is intermediate ready, but im not sure. Mods please move it if it's not. Its done with a mouse, and is my 5th (i think) real drawing on the oekaki forums that is not just lineart or coloured in. Its also my first really serious oekaki. I hope it reminds people of the sacrifices our soldiers have made for our freedom. Lest we Forget.
