For A Friend

Postby Sdlhf » Wed Oct 26, 2011 12:30 pm

Push away that dreary wall
Come on now, don't be sad
Stop letting your heart fall
Think about good times you've had

No one's ever a scratch-free board
A spotless sidewalk, a straight stick
Just don't think dark thoughts when you're bored
But yeah, sometimes, life plays a dirty trick

If you must, be angry, be furious!
But know when you have to stop
Because others might start to get curious
If you keep letting your spirit drop

Be thankful for what you've got
It could always be worse, you know
You could be sleeping on a broken cot
Or have monsters prowling outside your window

Life just may throw you a curveball
Or many, for that matter
You just have to hit them, or you'll fall
Fall off of your designated platter

Come on, you don't have to be happy
But please stop being sad
Yes, life is often crappy
But don't try to feel too bad

We all have our days in the sun
And days in the dark
And come on, you're not the only one
Who feels like they haven't hit their mark

I hope you know, you have friends in this town
And some may fade away
But I hope that some of the memories don't drown
Into a sea of deep grey

I better end this now
Please, tomorrow, let me see you with a smile
Don't have a furrowed brow
Let's just make our time worthwhile

I suck at writing
This is true
But don't let sadness be inviting
Let the light of happiness shine for you

Sorry if this is cheesy, Haley, but it's the best I could do. <:)
