When he was very young his father had encouraged him to take on a creature more dark than a soul from hell to make him gain respect and strength. (his father is a very cruel and evil cat) Loki had been seeking more respect from his clan(?) members, so he took his fathers' offer.
the day after he went to attack the beast, he came back a whole diffrent cat. He was rude to everyone, and never stayed around the others long.. Many thought the spirit had killed off most of lokis True spirit, and that he became evil. So they eventually banished him from being scared of him.
