dogs with voice boxes removed

Postby muskox » Tue Sep 13, 2011 12:43 pm

well I heard about dogs getting their voice boxes removed because they're owners don't want them to bark, when instead the dogs make screeching yodeling like noises.
website for more info: info about what they do and such --->http://www.stopdogfrombarking.com/dogsurgery.html discussion and where i got quotes from--->http://www.dogster.com/answers/question/how_is_the_emotional_health_of_my_dog_effected_by_removing_his_bark-641

quotes:
My neighbors debarked one of their many chihuahuas and I have noticed that all of the others will bark at me for a couple of seconds and then will walk away. The debarked one will just keep rasping and rasping long after the others are gone. To me it seems like the dog gets frustrated that no one can hear him and I can imagine that that has a huge emotional toll on him. I feel very bad for him.

but then someone else on the topic says that there is a method that they don't remove the voice box they just mess it up so they can't bark but sometimes they can get there bark back.
