Timer isn't correct, because I was doing loads of other things as well. Maybe so far it has taken about 2 hours.
Anyway, ignore this, I have posted for my own inspiration. I MUST FINISH THIS. D:
I am planning on making the highlights much more deeper than this, this is just the base sort of thing. The background is done though. ^^
Okay I'm done. :3 This is Vallery, my friend's young filly. The timer is not correct! This probably took about 4 hours, but I had art block for most of this so I got distracted, hence the bad outcome. :c Might redo the horse one day.

Edit 2:- Moar continuation. :3 (Ignore the lines, they are just there to help me with colouring.)
Edit 3:- Working on the head collar... The shiny metal bit is KILLING me... I have no idea how to go about it... Tips are loved! <3 Just touched up the ears a bit as well.
Edit 4:- Finished the headcollar, added a bit more shine to the eyes and started on the mane. I'm getting there!
Edit 5:- I think I'm done. :3 I'm not really that happy with the overall result, to me it doesn't look that good.
I'm quite proud of the background though.~SN.
