(This is a paranormal story, so if you get nightmares easily, I wouldn't recommend reading this. xD)
Rose sighed. "It's been a long time since mother died. Why bring up her last words now?" She asked her sister, Petal. Petal shrugged. "Well, just saying. She has always liked you the best." She said, almost with disgust. Rose smiled. "Petal, you know she loved you just as much as she loved me." She giggled. Petal rolled her eyes. "Oh, whatever." She said, looking away. But Rose knew that she wasn't mad at her. Rose looked away also. But then, when she looked back, Petal was gone. "Petal?" Rose called out, glancing around. She stood up. Maybe Petal wanted to play hide and seek. "Oh Petal, where are you?" She called out, giggling at the same time. She bounded through the thick brush, following her sister's scent trail. Finally, Rose found a bush drenched in her sister's scent. Rose giggled, then pushed her way through. "Found y-" Rose stopped dead. There, in front of her lay her Petal's white body, red with her own blood. Even more gruesome, Petal's delicate head was gone from the corpse. Where her head should have been there was ragged, bloody neck muscle, ripped into pieces. Rose took a step back. "N-No. This isn't happening." Rose spluttered, backing up more. Her back leg hit something. Glancing back, Rose saw it was Petal's disembodied head, eyes wide with sheer terror, and mouth open in a soundless screech. Blood dribbled down her head where numerous claws had raked across Petal's beautiful face. Rose screeched, then leaped out of the bush in sheer fright. She ran miles upon miles, even though exhaustion had taken over the young wolf. Soon, she stopped and collapsed.
~3 years later~
Rose walked through the forest. The images of the fatal experience clung to her grief-stricken mind like a shadow, always haunting her, and keeping her away from her birthplace, which was also where Petal lay now. Rose trotted wearily through thick bushes and soft ferns, making her way past the pond and the fields. A skittering behind Rose snapped her back into reality. A rabbit ran across the trail, and Rose quickly shot her paw out, killing it. As she bit into the rabbit meat, she heard someone coming up behind her. She raised her head as a handsome black brute trotted out to meet her. "Nice catch," He smiled. Rose nodded. "Thanks," She murmured. The brute blinked. "My name is Jet. What's yours?" Jet asked. "My name, is..." Rose thought for a moment. No-one had said her name since Petal died. Your name is Rose. Something said in her mind. "My name is Rose." She nodded. Jet smiled. "What a beautiful name," He complimented. Rose blushed. "Uh, thanks," She said awkwardly. Jet tilted his head. Rose could tell that he was blushing too. "Well, I was just saying..." He muttered. His ears flicked back in embarrassment. Rose smiled. "Sorry, didn't mean to sound that rude." She said good-heartily.
~About two months later~
Rose leaned on Jet. He glanced at her. "Rose, can I ask you something?" He asked hesitantly. Rose gazed up at him. "Ask me anything you like," She murmured, licking his cheek. Jet tilted his head. "Rose, will you be my mate?" He said. His amber eyes shimmered, and Rose couldn't help but gaze back. "Of course," She murmured, brushing her head against his. Jet let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Rose." He breathed, gazing up at the beautiful night sky. The moon shone bright against the dark blue background. Its white glow splashed over the brute's body, making him look silver instead of black. "I love you, Jet." Rose murmured, closing her eyes and leaning against him. Jet smiled and licked the top of her head. "I love you too, my sweet."
~About 6 months later~
Rose sighed. She had just given birth to three healthy pups. Jet sat beside her with his chest puffed out with pride. "They're beautiful!" He exclaimed. " He licked Rose's cheek. "Well done, my love." He smiled. Rose gazed happily back at him, even though she was exhausted. Jet glanced at the pups. "Let's name them." He murmured. Rose nodded. One looked just like Rose, except she had black instead of white. "She should be Shayde." Rose nodded towards the black one. The next one was white with black splotches and had vines around his muzzle, tail and legs. "He can be Arrow." She murmured. Finally her gaze went to the last one, a black male with intricate white designs. "I wonder where he got those designs from," Jet murmured. Rose thought for a minute. "His name will be Thorn." She said finally. Jet smiled. "Beautiful names." He murmured. The pups squirmed around, crawling over and under eachother. "They're gonna be a handful when they get older," Rose huffed. Jet smiled. "I guess so." Rose put her head on her paws. "I guess I'll go look for something for you to eat." Jet said, turning to run off. Rose nodded drowsily and fell asleep to the sound of Jet's paws pounding the ground.
About 2 months later~
Rose watched as the three pups played together. "Ow!" Shayde squeaked as Thorn leaped ontop of her. He was now the biggest of them all. Arrow giggled and tackled Thorn, pushing him off poor Shayde, who was flattened to the ground. Rose sighed. "Thorn, you know you are bigger than Shayde, so down't jump on her please." She growled. Thorn straightened up. "Yes, mother!" He exclaimed.
Will finish soon... I've written enough for today xD
