Rem and the Night Sky

Postby Ivara » Thu Jul 21, 2011 5:06 pm

This is a different scene for Rem, so far all the scenes have been about danger or doing something important to help someone, or getting treasure for his cave of treasures. This one is one where the mood is more gentle.

Rem ran up the frosty hill, the grass crunching softly beneath his paws. A gentle night wind accompanied him up the hill, ruffling his black and white fur and the grass beneath his feet. When he reached the crest of the hill the wind continued on its way, leaving Rem with a final ruffle of his fur. Rem sat down with his breath billowing out in a cloud of white mist, he raised his eyes to look at the night sky. The moon glowed softly, and the stars twinkled down on him. After a second, a small dragon Rem appeared beside him, it too looked up at the moon and seemed to be captured by its soft light and pitted craters. With a flap of his wings, tiny dragon Rem rose off the ground and flew up by the moon, partly obscuring it from wolf Rem's view. Wolf Rem looked up at the moon, tiny dragon Rem in front of it. Dragon Rem got the hint and moved over to the side, where he could see the moon without blocking wolf Rem. Wolf Rem opened his mouth and howled at the glowing orb that hung in the sky as if suspended from a string. His howl started off high and ended deep, the sound echoing slightly around him, his forest spread out below. It was a sweet howl, one of happiness and joy. The moon responded silently, answering all the hows, whys, and whens that he could ever ask with a single moment of a brighter glow. Both dragon Rem and wolf Rem's eyes sparkled, full of hope and pure joy filled to the brim, on the point of spilling over. Wolf Rem howled once more, a thanks to the full moon that he loved so much. Then tiny dragon Rem flew down and landed on the frosty grass beside wolf Rem. Then tiny dragon Rem poofed out of existence, as if he had never existed. Rem got to his feet and padded down the hill, his paws slipping slightly on the soft grass. At the bottom of the hill Rem raised his eyes once more to the moon and stars, then padded into the forest and to his den, where he curled up with a sigh of happiness.
