Yay, fun with opacity~
Alright, let me start of with a disclaimer that I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular, but rather the community as a whole.
So you can draw wolves.
I was hoping not to resort to snarky comments with a poorly drawn example, but I feel this needs to be said. It's not that I have anything against wolves or against you guys drawing wolves, just that I feel that they are FAR too common of a subject.
Often times, I find an amazing artist on here whose work I absolutely adore. I'll go to check out the rest of their gallery and, lo and behold, pages upon pages upon pages of nothing bot wolves, dogs, and canines.
This has also happened with cats and horses as well.
It's fine to like an animal and it's fine to have specialties~ But having a variety in your gallery is going to make you that much better. Don't limit yourself to drawing one thing or in one particular art style. Expand! Try new things, new ways to color, new ways to draw~ There's a big world out there and even larger is your imagination and interpretation of it. Use it~
Who cares about popularity? Draw for you. Draw things you would never draw. Learn, get better.
I look up to a lot of you as artist, but I really feel like you are limiting yourselves. Maybe it's because you lack confidence in other areas, maybe it's because wolves and horses get comments while other critters and objects don't. Whatever your reasoning, I want to see more variety. When that happens, I shall respect you even more as an artist.
I yearn for the day no canines, equines, or felines make it to the featured. :3 It's up to you guys to make that change.
