Art Do you mind if I skip this one???? I fail at art
Sapphire was born smaller than a normal puppy, just a little. This scared her mother greatly, to find one of her pups was half it's size. But she was healthy as any pup. Though she was small, she had much spirit. She grew at the same speed as her brothers and sisters, just not a as big. It wasn't the best thing.
Well, life went on, and after a few seasons, she was a lovely young wolf. With beautiful markings, and wonderful skill, she was the crush of any passing wolves. Her family lived on the outskirts of a cruel pack, which killed her brothers and sisters off one by one. They were coming for her next.
Her mother told her she couldn't stay here any longer. "Sapphire, you must go east, until you reach the Jade river. Once you cross it, you won't have to worry anymore. Build a den, find a mate, just don't come back," she told her, pointing in the direction.
Sapphire nodded, her eyes wide. A howl sounded in the night. A full moon shown over them, washing them in moonlight. "Go, before they come," She whispered, nudging her daughter. Sapphire ran, the last words of her mother echoing in her ears. "I love you!"
She ran up and down the hills covered in trees. Paw steps echoed through the trees ran farther. She ran as fast as she could, running for her life. The howls grew closer and her fears grew.
She ran down another hill. There it was, on the horizon. The river of Jade. Her heart beat grew faster, but she began to tire. As she ran up another hill, another howl hit her. Beginning to run down the slope, Sapphire tripped.
She tumbled down the hill, all but one leg tucked against her body. She fell to the bottom of the slope, unable to get up. Her single leg was bent in a crooked direction.
Many eyes looked out from the shadows of the trees. Wolves stalked out, lurching for their prey. Sapphire couldn't rise, and she knew she couldn't make it. She lay at the edge of the river. The alpha jumped out of the shadows, straight for her. She closed her eyes, waiting for the kill. It never came.
She opened her eyes in time to see another wolf jump out from the river, intercepting the alpha. Another wolf picked her up, carrying her across the river. The pack soon was running for their life.
