Finally!

Postby UR Kob » Fri May 13, 2011 11:46 am

This..took..forever!

The grass once again annoyed me. It takes a REALLY long time to draw grass. Im sorry about some of the grass because i was rushing. I know, its terrible :C

But this is based off a pencil drawing i did on a piece of paper :3

And the timer is correct o.o give or take a few minutes

Enjoy! Criticism is always welcome.

EDIT: Fixed grass best i could... (I hate grass X3)

The grass, though you worked hard, needs a bit more work. (I utterly despise drawing grass as well; that's why the majority of my art doesn't have landscape-based backgrounds. So don't worry, you're not alone. >>)
Maybe blend it a tad, use shades that are closer together... working on small patches first, to get the hang of it, will be much more effective than the repetitive dashes on this piece.
Also, the line where the grass ends and the mountain begins is clearly visible - it doesn't give the realistic look that I assume you are aiming for. Try blending the grass like spikes, similar to the way you did over the water.

I am not the best landscape artist, but these are a few obvious and most important points that I picked out. Hope it helps. c:

You should Dodge the area Around the Sun to have given it a glow, like start out with one wide dodge, then smaller and closer, then smaller again, to create a glow effect coming from the Sun. and yeah, it doesnt really look realistic, The River is kinda too blue X3 it looks too "Dreamie." it should be a paler blue, and the grass looks stringy like a Webkinz. X3 Sorry, Cares but tiz twuue.

Like the pink in the sky, it's real nice. :)
I joined Chickensmoothie in 2009, when I was in very young (excuse the previous awkward posts) and am now all grown up. Over the years I've become less and less active with more and more taking up my time but I'm making sure not to forget about this place and hopefully one day I can get back into the swing of things on here. I'm only on from time to time right now but because of my inactivity my wishlist has a lot of recent pets on it and I've accumulated 11 years of pets in my trade group so feel free to shoot me a trade. I bet I'll have something you're after and I'll get back to it as soon as I can.
