Cat Name: cloudsoar
Gender: afab (she/her)
Rank: healer
Clan: shadeclan
Age: 2 1/2 years old
Prompt:
as just a tiny kit cloudsoar loved watching the warriors and hunters getting on with their duties. she always admired the strength her clanmates carried, strong paws able to take down prey in one strike, muscular shoulders able to hold an enemy down. it was absolutely beautiful in her eyes, she dreamed of being like them.

her den-mates' favourite game was copying the moves they saw their clanmates performing. either some kits would be pretending to be rabbits while the rest were hunters doing their best to outsmart the speed of them. and sometimes they would split themselves evenly into two groups, clan cats and rogues, battling it out to protect their territory. cloudsoar loved the pretend games, feeling as if her dream was achievable as she had the nimbleness required to avoid her den-mates attacks.

however as they all got closer to becoming apprentices cloudsoar noticed a fatal flaw in herself. she was weak. despite her appearance with her claws and fangs, she could no longer win any of the pretend games they played. she was always either first caught or one of the first. it got to the point her den-mates noticed and started picking on her for it. "you're always going to be a kit if you can't even knock any of us off balance" was one of the many statements that played on repeat in her head. she tried her best to keep up, watching more closely to more accurately copy the moves being done but no matter what she did, it didn't work.

eventually she gave up. choosing to instead stay curled up in her nest pouting over playing with her den-mates. cloudsoar's dream was shattered, how was she ever going to be a helpful member of shadeclan if she was weak? she didn't want to be a burden to her clan which she was going to be if she couldn't take down prey or protect the vulnerable of the clan. one cold morning as she lay there alone in her self deprecation, a voice startled her. in the emptiness of the nursery, a glowing ghostly figure appeared before her. "young kit, your mind is focused on the wrong thing" it spoke to her, she didn't care for the figure and its words, continuing to lay there not even looking at them, huffing and pouting to herself. "strength is not all that a cat needs. being gentle and quick is vital for keeping a clan alive", with those words and the lack of care shown by cloudsoar, the ghostly cat touched their muzzle to her forehead. first she saw visions of a clan battered by illness, and cats struggling to handle both the fragile cats and delicate herbs as stress affected their movements. the terrified yowls were cut off as she saw what appeared to be her but grown up, plucking herbs in swift yet careful movements and being able to transport them in ways to ensure they all remained in tact. then a vision of her gently poking and prodding at a blurry yet clearly hurt cat. cloudsoar finally opened her eyes with a quiet yelp. "you can still help your clan, little one, don't give up".
