tried to finish this in time for october, but got a little busy w irl stuff!
anyways, i wanted to yap a lil since october marked my 3rd year being an oekaki mod!

when i fur-st joined the staff team, i felt like there were a lot of improvements to be made to make the user experience smoother, and i put my paws to work, here's some stuff that has changed in the last 3 years (in regards to the oekaki area of cs)!

created an updated oekaki guide
i love linking the oekaki guide to cs's newest oekaki artists, but for the first few months, i was linkin the old oekaki guide and i kept thinking "this isn't relevant at all anymore" and so... bam i made a new oekaki guide for chickenpaint v2. while it's mostly put together, tbh it still isn't finished. once in a while i add more info to it, including new tutorials when i see artists post new ones!

oekaki rules were updated
this was probably my biggest gripe w cs! the oekaki rules were unclear and not concise, which i feel like led to a lot of frustration. i wrote up a draft for the oekaki rules update and even created a visual guide for the cover rules! i later also wrote a draft for some of the code of conduct rules that pertained to the art/images on cs, to update them to the standards of the updated oekaki rules!

petitioned for the return of the oekaki challenges board
i'm currently not one of the fellas managing it now, but i was one of the first voices asking for the return of it :3

an oekaki section was added to the spam guide
i drafted the oekaki section for the newly updated spam guide! this was especially something that i think the community needed for a long time, since the original spam guide totally neglected the oekaki side of things (even tho the oekaki boards were still required to follow the spam guide!)

COURSE, that's all just stuff that has been, like, big changes! behind the scenes, i'm answering help tickets, handling reports, moving oekakis from one board to the next, processing thread transfers, etc etc etc!

its been 3 years and im still just so grateful to have this opportunity to help cs. it's really important to me, idk. there's no where else on the internet like this anymore, and even tho i p much keep to myself, i care about the people that i see around and i do my best to help them (even if that helping them means ensuring they follow the rules and dont get into further trouble ><)

anyways thank you for listening to my rambling. i luv u, cs users. i vow to always look out for u and to continue to do my best to see that oekaki (and cs) continue to improve (even if we honestly can't change much. this IS an old website and LOL, tbh if we modernized it then , well , it might just not be cs anymore).

That oekaki guide saved my life. If anyone breathes a question about oekaki in my general vicinity I slap a link to that guide. It has helped countless users that I know because I have sent them personally! I wish it was pinned somewhere at the top of the oekaki boards actually. Maybe put it in the "Question time" rotation if it isn't already ^^ thank you for all your hard work!

AYY CONGRATS ON 3 YEARS ANNIVERSARY CAST!! <333 but omg this is so cool?? when i found the oekaki guide it was SO HELPFUL. i actually found colouring stuff so trikcy and when i saw that i understood- anddd i started using pixel brushes for the line instead so that i just didnt have to do it again. prob why i love it sm haha. i havent participated (yet!!! hopefully sometime) in the oekaki challenges, but its so cool to see what other users come up with c:
