Postby minifun990 » Sat Jan 20, 2024 12:32 pm

"Welcome to Cloud cows. These fluttery little bovines are available to adopt now!

Some strange combination of birds and cows, perhaps the result of genetic modification most 1st gen cloud cows flutter in being a cross between a real life bird species and cow breed! As they nest and new generations are born new more unusual characteristics and patterning occur.

I don't know how to rhyme, counting syllables, accentuation, and so on in poems in English. Can I write the poem in Spanish?

Unfortunately I and my current staff cant read much spanish, but if you are alright with a google translate/other rough translation then you may write it in spanish

Cloud Cow name: Gene
Gender/Pronouns: She/her

Poem:

(In Spanish)
Cuando sus manos a Magec tomaron
Y del cielo su luz fue arrancada,
Todo se oscureció ante la mirada
De los pastores que se acercaron.

Fue Guayota con todo su descaro
Riendo mientras al dios buscaban.
Achamam que de lejos lo observaba
Decidió ir a Echeide a enfrentarlo.

Lucharon lanzando piedra y rayos,
Guayota era un demonio muy fuerte,
Más Achaman fue un digno adversario.

El dios salvó a Magec finalmente
Y Guayota quedó encarcelado
Esperando su venganza, paciente.

The pome is a soneto about the first eruption of the Teide Cumbre Vieja volcano seen by humans. Some aborigines saw it and explained it with a story about gods and demons fighting. It's my fave leyend.

The poem contains Guanche names that the translator will not translate: Achaman (Good of sky), Magec (Good of Sun), Guayota (Demon of lava and volcano) and Echeide (Teide volcano).

All yours! I liked what I did manage to translate!
