Fang turned back to the oncoming black mist.
Here he was. Alone, like he'd always feared. No one beside him, no one-
"That doesn't worked on me anymore."
Silence. The mist came closer.
I'm coming to you soon, Leaf.
"Which is why I've got to die, right?
"You will die because you betrayed me, Fang."
The mist took a shape, and the Wolf walked out to meet him.
"I will not be your monster." Fang snarled. "Not anymore. You killed my pack. It was you all along- the fire, the men!"
No response from the Wolf.
"I will not shame my pack anymore."
"Shame them? Your pack were gunned down as they ran. A coward's death."
Fang looked into those ancient eyes, the colour of storm clouds.
"Then I shall die as they should have!"
He lunged.

Yeah, that fight didn't exactly end well for him...

Well, it sort of goes like this: hundreds of years ago magic was a lot more common than it is today, mainly because very few believe in it anymore. But during that time, there was a creature who was simply called the Wolf, who fed off fear. Eventually, the weakening of magic caused him to go into a sort of hibernation like many other creatures, and a good witch trapped him while he slept. Of course, everyone knew that he'd break out one day, but there was a prophecy- a savior they called the Hope would be born, who would defeat him.
In short, the story focuses on a swan in modern day, who accidentally mucks up a spell and frees the Wolf, only to discover that he's the long-awaited Hope. And to make matters worse, he's cursed to turn into a human during the day and revert back to his original form at night.
That's the main plot of it, anywho. It contains adventure, action, a little romance, a small cat with an embarrassing name, a heron with anger issues, and a moorhen with a very big stick.
