Chicoons are Arboreal Fruigivores that stand roughly 3 feet in height.
They have long, flexible necks, curly and stretchy tongues, floppy ears, a box-like head, wings on their head, and a flame that hovers by their tail!

They are highly intelligent creatures and can learn to communicate with any animal, however since they lack the necessary vocal cords to speak a verbal language they've learned to communicate and express their emotions through their headwings! Chicoon have proven to be wonderful and
friendly companions of anyone and can be often found in the company of humans.

Forever? What really is forever? Can you describe it for me?

”Sure! It’s the way--”

Is it the way you feel about someone special? What about a mother’s love?

“I’m not sure I’m following--”

Those are not quite forever. In our heart, perhaps, but in a literal sense…they are not forever. Well, what about the things we know to be out of our control? The passing of the seasons? The stars in the night sky?

“I just--”

No. While we would like to believe those to be forever, eternal, everlasting…they are not. Seasons change, but we have no proof that they will be here forever. The stars will eventually fade. What about a memory? Alas, no, those too find themselves to be fleeting.

You pause, frowning as you listen to the voice echoing in the woods. You had come out here for a pumpkin. Nothing more, nothing less, and here you were now waxxing philosophical with an unknown entity of the forest. As you deliberate, you finally come across some words that, perhaps, this creature will not interrrupt.
“Well, then what IS forever?”

Silence. As you begin to believe you’ve won and prepare to step forwards--

Forever is a concept that only some may learn to grasp. It is not love, it is not a familial tie, it is not any such things…no. Forever…is the passing into the beyond. Forever is what we get to experience once we are gone. Where all things can exist in harmony. Forever.

Your hair stands up on the back of your neck as you listen to the chilling words-- and you take a step back from the pumpkins laying scattered in the open clearing as they slowly vanish. And yet. You can still see them. The outlines of what once-were, now gone from this plane, as a Chicoon steps forward from the darkness.

All life follows a cycle. They will remember your actions-- your choices-- well after they are gone, and will remind you of such when you join them. You would do well to remember that.

As he swerves around to step back into the dark forest, his back foot knocks a fresh pumpkin toward your feet. You stoop down to pick it up, reflecting on his words…and jump as his voice comes clearly back into your thoughts.
